ThisRed Deck wins! Cheap edition!is my current deck.

Most of the work horse cards are M11 or Zendikar block, and they will be rolling out soon. Any ideas about how to go about making a competitive mono red Deck in M12.

I am rather new to the game so any help would be great.

This is my version of RDW post rotation. Maybe you want to take a look at it and perhaps gain some idea. And after that, maybe we can improve one another's deck. deck:post-zen-rdw

I'm not an expert or anything with RDWs but I can offer some suggestions as to what you could do. Goblin Chieftain was reprinted so a goblin core is plausible. Goblin Grenade s, Goblin Arsonist s, and Goblin Wardriver s are going to be useful if you want to go that direction. You already have a Spikeshot Elder in your current deck so if you like how he plays, the chieftains boost will make him all the better. You also already have the grenades. You could even take your deck into a Kuldotha Red direction. Moltensteel Dragon , Galvanic Blast s, Kuldotha Phoenix s, and Whipflare s are useful to have for that as well as your Shrine of Burning Rage s. Immolating Souleater isn't all that great so in my opinion he isn't a good inclusion. I've tried him in several decks and was disappointed. A lone Wurmcoil Engine in the deck is also pretty nice. If you are just looking for some good red cards to play around with, the following are doing well or people are trying to find good uses for them: Slagstorm , Stormblood Berserker , Urabrask the Hidden , card:Chandra's Phoenix, Arc Trail , Furnace Scamp , Grim Lavamancer , Inferno Titan , and Hero of Oxid Ridge . The lavamancer is going to be important for RDWs in the future. The titan is around $5 right now so he isn't too expensive if you decide to use him. Arc Trail is going to be used a lot since Lightning Bolt , Forked Bolt , Searing Blaze , Burst Lightning , and Staggershock are rotating and being replaced by Shock , Galvanic Blast , Burn the Impure , and Incinerate . Hero of Oxid Ridge is benefitting aggressive decks like vampires with his anti-chump blocking and battle cry boost. Sideboarding is kind of hard to look at with most Innistrad cards still kept in the dark. A current strategy that is doing well is Tempered Steel, so having Shatter s is a good inclusion. Equipment decks with Puresteel Paladin are also around so Crush s are also good. Infect is starting to see more play, and post-rotation I wouldn't be surprised if they started seeing a lot more play. Burn the Impure will act like a new Searing Blaze for that strategy. Vulshok Refugee s will help against other red decks. If there is a lot of mana ramp in the future metagame, Tunnel Ignus will be a great sideboard inclusion. Like I said, I'm not a big RDWs expert, but I played around with a lot of these cards. Goblin Guide is hard to replace right now. If you want to look for new cards and such, the Gatherer will help you find what you need. I hope any of this was helpful.
