"Monstrosity" Questions

Two Questions: 1) Is monstrosity an "activated ability" because it has a mana cost.

2) Can I make my creature monstrous twice as part of a stack. For example, I pay to make fleecemane lion monstrous. my opponent doom blades it. If I have the mana. Can I pay to make it monstrous again, which gives it hexproof, blocking doom blade.

Yes and yes. Note though, that while the second activation will do what you want it to for the Lion, note the first activation will do nothing when it resolves.

Questions like this should be asked in the Q&A.

Please link all cards in your question:
Fleecemane Lion
Doom Blade

1) Yes. Monstrosity is an activated ability with an activation cost.

2) Yes. You can activate a monstrosity ability any number of times, but the ability will only do something if the creature is not already monstrous.

1) Monstrous is an activated ability. However, not all activated abilities have mana costs, and having a mana cost doesn't necessarily mean that something is an activated ability (Kicker, some triggered abilities, etc.)

2) Yes, although after doom blade fizzles, your Fleecemane Lion won't become monstrous again; it'll stay a 4/4

1) yes

2) yes, because once the first one resolves, the 2nd activation would do nothing when resolved since it is already monstrous
