Most "powerful" or annoying deck here?

Deck Help forum

I've been playing with the same group of people in casual that I've played with since I started playing Magic when Zenikar came out.

We play casual multiplayer, and the only rules we have are 'no unglued or unhinged' and 'no proxies'.

The group recently voted to allow proxies as someone joined who has very little real cards and almost only plays with proxies. I am against this and want to show them why it is a bad idea.

We are playing tomorrow, and I want to bring in some dumb deck that can win in a multiplayer game before turn one, or just something that will in general be annoying and stupid and overpowered.

Since all I am doing is writing names on pieces of paper and putting them in sleeves, price of the card is no issue.

Can anyone link me to a good deck for this here on TappedOut?

Honestly I think you guys should allow just your friend to play with proxies for a bit and then if thats all he ever does start restricting the rule until he decides to buy cards and packs. If you want you can suggest that and if that doesn't work then just go find a vintage deck that goes off on turn 0-2

flash hulk is definitely a turn 0 win casual deck but i'm not sure in multiplayer, will it work?

@2austin5: honestly, I have no problem with this new guy's decks. I looked through them and honestly most of them are pretty low to mid power for our group. Very few of his cards would even be wroth much, and the proxies are very well made.

What got me all hot and bothered is when one of the other players -who is super competitive- starts talking about how cool it will be to be able to play with the 'Power Nine' cards in all of his decks.

then you shut that guy down. the whole point of this game is to learn and have fun, and if he wants to play P9, then you need to ban them or not play him at all. Dont screw the new player just because a person wants to be an a$$hole.

the flash hulk will win in any format 1v1 or 4v4 because of Disciple of the Vault if u work it out its 4 Disciple of the Vault * 4Phyrexian Marauder and 4Shifting Wall that is 32 dmg from just the artifacts dying ,the artifacts die because no mana was payed for them

@Planeswalker_Momo: You can't play in a five or six person multiplayer game, and not play with one person. Regardless of what I think of them, the rest of the group likes them and I am stuck playing with them if I want to play with the rest of the group.

oh let me just correct my last statement i just realized that Disciple of the Vault states target player loses hp ,so one or 2 players at max.

@Zabin: as a player, you have THE RIGHT to tell him to not use P9 Proxies. you want to make it fair for everyone in the group, yes? and the new player is not going overboard with OP Proxies, yes?

I not-at-all humbly submit to you one of my previous thought experiments: This is why we can't have the Power 9. To make it able to win a multiplayer game, replace Fireball with Exsanguinate .

You do realize in a casual format, all you have to do is state you'd rather not use P9 proxies. If you have the cards (which I extremely doubt any of you do if proxies of them are being suggested), then fine. However, if you want no proxies of them, then just simply say "Lets not use those proxies cause they are ridiculously OP". True magic players who play for fun rather than winning will accept your request.

I used to play with someone (whom is no longer mentioned cause he was a jerk to me) who used a Solar Flare deck. I NEVER won against it. Only once had I asked him to use a different deck cause I was getting bored using my three different ones against the same thing 500 games in a row >.<

Duly note, if you're opponent's like to play lots of creatures, try my deck out :) This is the Countdown to Extinction. It is very annoying and very fun :)

since its casual and your asking for annoying decks... turbo fog... it got nothing to do with the rest of the discussion or even the proxy part,... but its annoying enough to be mentioned, and perhaps no one in your group got answers for it...

just a fast thought...

about P9,... how about letting your new friend proxy any card that rest of your playgroup own,... if he then want to make his own thing, he have to go deeper into magic,... seems like a fair solution to me...

If you want an easy fix, maybe this is a good idea: Any cards a player owns are fair game, but any proxies a player makes have to go by the Legacy banned list.

If you would like it to be a little more restrictive than that (so that people aren't proxying up a bunch of dual lands, etc.), then maybe you could say any proxies a player makes have to be legal in Modern. I think this would encourage people to at least go out and get real copies of the older Commons and Uncommons they want to play with.

in my play group we let people use proxies, provided it doesn't overpower their deck. If they win <75% of the time, it's usually ok. If someone tries to make a deck with all proxies, including stuff like the P9, then yeah, we wouldn't let them play it, but with just some or not super expensive ones, we usually let them play
