MTG Arena: Which Limited Deck?

Deck Help forum

I am usually pretty good at figuring out which colors I should go with when assessing a limited pool, but this group of cards has me a bit puzzled. I have created 3 deck ideas and was wondering if you all could help me with determining which one would be the best option.

Temur Deck running 17 lands
The idea with this deck is to play bigger 4-6 drop threats and us the adapt mechanic along with the Bolrac-Clan Crusher to remove the counters and use them for direct damage. This deck is running the following guildgates for the colossus and mana fixing: x2 Radkos, x2 Gruul, x1 Simic, x1 Gateway Plaza. My concern with this deck is that I can get overwhelmed fast and not be able to catch back up.

Radkos #1 running 17 lands
Move into a Radkos build so I can more consistently use Theater of Horrors when I draw it. This may also allow me to use Skewer the Critics for the spectacle cost more often. I have x3 Goblin Gathering , but worried that this card is not going to be what I am hoping it to be. I kept the radkos GG, gruul GG, and gateway plaze in to allow for me to run the colossus still. Should I take out Flames of the Raze-Boar out of this build since I only have the colossus that is true 4 powered creature?

Radkos #2 running 16 lands
I dropped the colossus, but I am still running x2 Radkos guildgates. I added Ill-Gotten Inheritance , Orzhov Racketeers , and Vizkopa Vampire in place of the Colossus, x1 land, and Flames of the Raze-Boar .

I am thinking that the temur deck will be more interactive and has the bigger creature threats, but the radkos builds will provide me with more consistency. I wish there was a way I could try these two decks out first before starting the tournament...lol. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I say Temur. Not sure on your color distribution but you might be a bit high on GG's as it will slow you a lot.

Being a solid midrange deck, regardless of number of colors is the best place to be in sealed. Sure, you can experiment with aggro, but creatures in this format are large, so board stalls will happen often and aggro can be stopped.

So of the options above:

1>2>3

Given that you are already splashing black in 1, consider Ill-Gotten Inheritance , especially in those board stall situations. This card is bonkers in Limited.

Well, I played the first game with the Temur build and it took me forever to get to 4 lands and by the time I played anything relevant I my opponent had the board under control.....as I had feared would do. Then I switched to a Orzhov build I thought of early this morning due to it allowing for me to have more early plays and it was just not strong enough to get by any big creatures. So hear I am 0-2 and decide to switch to the Radkos build #2 that I created. I proceeded to go 7-0 and get the max prize. I was worried that the deck would not be able to create any big threats, but I definitely had them. Theater of Horrors and Ill-Gotten Inheritance is a good combo, Goblin Gathering turn 3 with a follow-up of Undercity Scavenger turn 4 was a nice combo, and the Carnage side of Carnival / Carnage did some work. Clamor Shaman was also be big help the last game of the tournament. Facing an opponent with only a 6/6 creature I was able to keep attacking with the 1/1 goblin and my other small creatures for the win. I guess I should have gone with my gut sooner and played the Radkos build. The Temur build looked like it would have been fun whenever it would go off, but all the guildgates was going to make that very hard to do. Thanks for the feedback though. Boza I now agree that inheritance is bonkers in limited. I kept thinking it was a bad card, but I have been watching a lot of draft videos lately. So in draft it may not be as good, but limited it can do some work. I did face some decks with bigger creatures, but I also got lucky that they could not swarm the board before it was over.

I guess I was wrong about aggressive decks not having much of a shot in sealed, though getting land screwed in first game is probably not a good indicator of the weakness Temur build. I am glad it worked out in the end!
