My EDH Jarad deck is slow

Played a couple rounds with it. My deck seems pretty slow early game. I'm going to be putting in Dark Ritual , Cabal Ritual , Black Market , and Bubbling Muck to try to speed it up. My problem is I don't have that many 1-2 drops that can be put on the field to protect me early game.

Also what am I going to do against Relic of Progenitus ? Can I use instant destroy artifact spells in response when someone decides to sac it? That's how the priority works right because my instant will be on top of the stack? I also put in Sadistic Sacrament just in case.

To answer your question about Relic of Progenitus : no. Sacrificing the permanent is part of the cost, and cost payments can't be responded to. You won't have priority until your opponent puts the ability onto the stack, at which point Relic of Progenitus will already be in the graveyard.
