I need some help making my first EDH deck that I plan on playing among some friends. I chose Jarrad based on the general's I've seen and generals everyone else is already using.

Just looking for general suggestions for the deck. There's so many good things I can put in, but it's hard deciding what to put in and what not to when I can only have 100 cards.

Overall I think it's pretty good. I think my mana should be fine and I have some mana ramping as well, some ways to deal with enemy permanents and a couple to get some enchantments/artifacts back for me as well as a ton of ways to get creatures back. I can easily make a token army. I have some pretty defensive cards and ways to heal. And I have a few ways to win reguardless of Jarad.

I like Jarad cause he's strong, tanky, can deal AoE damage to everyone, and I can bring him back from the graveyard instead of the commander zone.

Suggestions please. Is there anything that can be substituted for something better? Any glaring weaknesses? Any cards that can add small combos with other cards I have (preferably if something can combo off of a few cards instead of needing a specific card to combo off of).

For a deck based on Jarad, you pretty much need lord of extinction. If no one kills jarad when lord enters play, you pretty much win by sacrificing him. Also, because you are going to need to be recurring jarad at times from your graveyard, life from the loam and crucible of worlds are necessary. And, you should replace naturalize with krosan grip. Krosan grip cannot be countered, and when there is a pesky artifact and enchantment getting in your way, they cannot stop you from killing it with the grip.

As for staples to any black green deck, you should look into maelstrom pulse and greater good. Maelstrom pulse kills most everything you should want to kill and greater good allows you to utilize the large power and toughness of jarad (once he gets going) to draw tons of cards. You might also want to look into genesis. Any green deck can use it and most should. Recursion in edh is awesome.

A lot of these cards are expensive, so it might take you a while to get all of them together.
