Necrotic Ooze Combo

I was wondering is Necrotic Ooze as viable a combo engine as Kikki-Jikki, Mirror-Breaker in Modern? Both can utilize Birthing Pod both need creatures that have rather unique effects. What do you think? I really want to make a Necrotic Ooze deck, got suggestions?

Quillspike + Devoted Druid is one. Add in a Thornling and you've got yourself a pretty good deal.

I think the reason why Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker /Splinter Twin is so popular with Pestermite /Deceiver Exarch is because it isn't easily removed. With a hoarde of Exarchs, you'd need something that deals 4 or or more damage to all creatures - at instant speed. With Necrotic Ooze , you can stop it with a Doom Blade (unless you rely on having even more creatures in the graveyard).
If you were to do it, I would add in Fauna Shaman in order to pitch combo pieces to the graveyard, and find other important pieces to play.

Someone on here has a really awesome deck that uses Necrotic Ooze and Civilized Scholar Flip ... I can't remember who though...
