need another 1 drop in Naya

Deck Help forum

hide yo kids, hide yo wife, the blitz is coming is the deck.

Soldier of the Pantheon is an amazing card, but with all these mono colored decks running around, it is part of the junk rares binder at this point.

need another 1 drop though.

my choices so far are:

Akroan Crusader - not too much stuff to trigger heroic off in the deck, but it is completely viable to go T1 Akroan Crusader , T2 Burning-Tree Emissary into Madcap Skills on the Akroan Crusader swing for 5.

Firedrinker Satyr pumpable 2/1 for 1 is decent.

Hopeful Eidolon lifelink turn 1. late game adds lifelink to anything, and survives a sweeper.

Legion Loyalist Turn 1 haste, late game can start triggering battalion

Wasteland Viper early drop, or late game combat trick

Shock more removal

Dragon Mantle cantrip and firebreathing on a stick...

I have been leaning towards Akroan Crusader , but the others are viable options...please help me decide

Soldier is great, he avoids Azorius Charm and will gain you a lot of life over time

Rakdos Cackler is a good 1 drop or Gladecover Scout to avoid spot removal

soldier will be a powerhouse once more multicolored decks start coming out. right now he is mediocre at best...MBD, MUD anal rape it.

another card I am considering in it's place Silence

Soldier of the Pantheon is the best option, Rakdos Cackler is second, Firedrinker Satyr is third. Those are the three best in naya, though I could maybe see cackler edging out the soldier if you have a tremendous amount of Mono-B in your meta. If Mono-U is the offender, soldier is still the best.

Also, don't run Silence . At all. There is a reason it has never seen a tournament top 8 in standard.

I'd stick with the soldier at the moment. Just side board it out if you need

look at the deck list before commenting please...not to be rude, but the link is there for a reason...Boros Elite is already in the deck

Boros Elite shouldn't be in the deck. Two of the most popular archetypes, MBC and U/W/x control, are chock full of removal, which makes him quite terrible. And I don't mean this in the "dies to removal" sense, but moreso that its going to be near impossible to have a supporting board state in many MUs.

I'd play Dryad Militant . It's another 1-drop that can be cast off Burning-Tree mana.

i have considered Dryad Militant , but Boros Elite is definitely the cream of the crop. Everything dies to removal, but the profit you gain for Boros Elite sticking is just gravy. not to mention late game with Madcap Skills or Ajani, Caller of the Pride . At worse, you lose a 1 drop to their removal, leaving less removal for Loxodon Smiter , or they leave Boros Elite up which turns into a menace sooner than everyone thinks

@Khanye, I think you misunderstood me. Those decks will have removal in their opening hands. They don't need to use it on elite, they can save it for smiter, and all your left with is an Eager Cadet . "At worst", they just completely ignore it until they either verdict or gary, while it sits there being outclassed by opposing creatures. Right now, creatures need to be able to pose a threat post wipe, which elite doesn't do. Saying elite is good because it can be supported by ajani and madcap is not a legitimate argument, as that applies for every creature. Also, saying elite's ability is "just gravy" is also in accurate. Elite needs to consistently be 3/3 in order to be playable. The choice is between always hitting for 2 with benefits, or hitting one and every few games hitting for 3. No hard feelings, but elite is pretty bad, and doesn't see play in current white weenie decks for a reason.

true. Dryad Militant then?

With BTE in the deck, I actually think you want Rakdos Cackler . Hits for 2, and evades Doom Blade and Ultimate Price . Militant's perk is kinda do nothing, even if it is slightly easier on the mana.

Depending on meta militants perk is awesome since UW is now about 1 win con and pumoing out exilier of immortality, exile is huge

I think your seriously thinking too much into Soldier of the Pantheon protection from multicolored. 2 power one drops are the core of any hyper aggressive curve. Soldier of the Pantheon and Dryad Militant abilities could not come up once during the course of a game and they would still be my preference over cards like Legion Loyalist .

There's also color consideration to consider. In order to reliably play a one drop, you want at least 12 untapped sources of each in order to be consistent. I would run Experiment One , Soldier of the Pantheon and Dryad Militant . Similar to the above I'm not a fan of Boros Elite here. Your deck only features 23 creatures, 3 of which are more combat tricks. 20 creatures is a little light to reliably enable battalion.

I think i will swap the Boros Elite with Dryad Militant
