hey guys,

ive been playing mtg since zendikar was halfway to rotation, but my friends other than playign standard and extended tourneys play legacy sometimes...i want to make a dredge deck with mah sexy BloodghastMTG Card: Bloodghast ichoriods etc...but Bridge from BelowMTG Card: Bridge from Below where i am is scarce and extremely expensive too..maybe i can get 1 or 2 AT MOST because their so hard to find...my question is, how would a dredge deck do without it? or maybe with 1 for example...but just wondering..

I myself don't play dredge but I do rock up to my LGS for the weekly legacy night and I often have to face off against dredge.

Whenever I vs the deck, I always feel its imperative to get rid of my opponent's Bridge from BelowMTG Card: Bridge from Below because if I let them put say, 3 zombie tokens into play, then they can use the flashback on Dread ReturnMTG Card: Dread Return and get something scary like Iona, Shield of EmeriaMTG Card: Iona, Shield of Emeria into play.

The deck is a well oiled machine in my opinion. IchoridMTG Card: Ichorids and NarcomoebaMTG Card: Narcomoebas come into play for free, which then fuel Cabal TherapyMTG Card: Cabal Therapy and Dread ReturnMTG Card: Dread Return which ultimately allow Bridge from BelowMTG Card: Bridge from Below to bury me in zombies.

I would say that its important you run the full set of 4 Bridge from BelowMTG Card: Bridge from Below because I feel it's so integral to making the deck work. Also consider, if someone blows up a Tormod's CryptMTG Card: Tormod's Crypt against you and only 2 out of 4 copies of Bridge from BelowMTG Card: Bridge from Below have been exiled from your graveyard, you may still have a chance to win the game if your opponent doesn't land another Tormod's CryptMTG Card: Tormod's Crypt. I feel that in itself is a very compelling reason to run 4 copies of it, because I've sure lost a few games to dredge because I needed more grave hate but just didn't draw it in time.

hmm that does seem to be the case, but thats just a mega win part...what would the power of the deck be without it? any ideas?

I'm not really sure. You'd probably just do the usual turn 1 Careful StudyMTG Card: Careful Study / Faithless LootingMTG Card: Faithless Looting / BreakthroughMTG Card: Breakthrough / Lion's Eye DiamondMTG Card: Lion's Eye Diamond so that you can discard an IchoridMTG Card: Ichorid and another black creature. Then you can start bringing the beats in on turn 2 and hope that you can just get there.

You're kinda just removing 4 of the win conditions from your deck by not playing the Bridge from BelowMTG Card: Bridge from Below. I think you're making the deck a lot less potent.

Give it a go though, post a decklist here and then get some feedback. Test your version out against some things and see if you're happy buying it.
