I'm building a Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon EDH deck and need to get around 12 mana floating turn 5/6 to make the deck really work. Does anyone have any ideas for how to do this in mono black?http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/skittles-taste-the-painbow/

Black can almost stand up to green in terms of raw ramp power. Extraplanar Lens , Gauntlet of Power , Caged Sun , Cabal Coffers , Magus of the Coffers , and Nirkana Revenant offer some solid options.

actually with the exception of Nirkana Revenant all of those are in there. Any other ideas? I can usually get to 9 or 10 turn 5, but I just need that extra 3 more!

I posted a few helpful lands for you. 12 mana by turn 5-6 can be a stretch in most decks, especially in EDH. Solemn Simulacrum is available to all colors as well as Grim Monolith . What are you using all that mana for?

Mmm, I was thinking Grim Monolith or Mana Vault might be good choices.

So, the idea is by turn 5 I want to have at least two equipments out (about 3 mana equip costs each is a reasonable assumption), and Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon is 5+1 for casting and haste, then equip both equipments for around 6 and swing for a sudden kill.

I see you already run Lashwrithe and Strata Scythe which are nice for the quick win. If you can pull off 11 mana Hatred could work.

When I run black in legacy its normally suicide so Hatred is a viable option, however in edh he who combo's first is he who wins where I play. The black infinite mana combo I know can work turn 4 if you don't have to tutor for it. Nether Traitor + Genesis Chamber + Phyrexian Altar (all of which are not easy to come by when trading) = infinite mana of any color you want. All you do is sacrifice Nether Traitor for whatever color mana you want, Genesis Chamber produces a token. You sacrifice the token for a black mana, when it hits the graveyard you use the black mana to bring traitor back from the grave leaving you with 1 mana of color of your choice. I do like the deck no matter what you do with it so +1.

After thinking you could also add Sword of the Paruns or my personal favorite friend Umbral Mantle to create infinite mana so long as you have out six swamps with Magus of the Coffers this one all you do is pay 2 mana to tap magus of the coffers adding 6 mana to your pool pay 3 untap magus with remaining 3 tap him and repeat. this is a turn six combo.
