I'm really new to MTG (maybe 3 weeks playing at most), and tried building my first deck. But I need help picking a good sideboard. The strategies behind sideboarding are beyond me still.

And of course, any help with the main deck itself would be greatly appreciated

I was reading some of the comments. As far as Pacifism , Arrest , and Oblivion Ring go, they're actually all very strong when used with Ethereal Armor . For one: they're removal. And two: they don't set you up to lose card advantage when your opponents play removal spells on one of your enchanted creatures. It's actually a pretty powerful deck that's cheap to build. It's not the best, sure, but it's good at what it does.

For sideboarding, you have to consider what decks people play in your area, which decks are most problematic for you to play against, and what cards they'll be sideboarding in against you. The most important thing to remember is that the sideboard is an extension of your 60 card mainboard. All 75 cards should work together. If you're having cards in your sideboard that make your deck really clunky after swapping them in, they shouldn't be in your sideboard.

There's a couple routes you can go with this. Your 15 sideboard cards can just help you in specific matchups. For example, bringing in Pithing Needle to combat AEtherling or Grafdigger's Cage vs. Unburial Rites . Or you can run a transformative sideboard, which is where you turn yourself into a completely different deck. What you would do in that case is take out all of your enchantments and replace them with small, efficient creatures, like Boros Elite and Precinct Captain .

sylvannos interesting, I can see that now actually. So can I sacrifice the +#/+# tokens for the protection? If so, I think I'll do it! Thanks Also, I'm thinking of splashing black in for cards like Sinister Possession and One Thousand Lashes . What do you think of that?
