Need Mono Black Deck Idea

A friend and I want to develop our own Black/White "chess" duel decks. I found this Chalice/Lifegain combo deck that I really like the concept of. I was going to tweak it with cards available to me.

Now I'm just looking for ideas/themes for a mono black deck that would compliment that white deck.

Awesome decks. I think I have everything I need to tweak an effective deck against the Chalice/Combo deck.
