Need protection for my mill deck

i am having a little trouble on choosing what protection i need my deck to have. and what i mean by that is i have a mill deck. i keep being killed by creatures and red burn decks. i want to know is that while i can't mill what type of protection should i have in my deck to keep me running. it is between a "tap creature" and a "counter spell". plus it is a mono blue deck. i will have the deck posted in a few minutes for you to look at

oh and i will post the deck after the question is answered. so the deck is more accurate. .

I run a black/blue standard mill deck with things such as Psychic Strike , Pilfered Plans , Paranoid Delusions , Mind Grind , Tome Scour and they do pretty well.

how does the opponents not take your health away before you mill them.

I use Nighthowler which get stronger the more creatures in all graveyards, I use Shipwreck Singer which is a 2 cost 1/2 flying, I use Returned Phalanx which is a defender that can still deal a decent amount of damage when he blocks. I also use Consuming Aberration which is my most expensive which I often equip Nighthowler onto him.

If you want to fill in loop holes and control the battlefield then use Psychic Strike , get a few flying creatures like I have Shipwreck Singer which also has her second ability which makes attacking creatures get -1-1 which is rather powerful if you have several Shipwreck Singer s on the battlefield, you can mill more with Returned Centaur and still have battlefield presence.

Add in defenders then, Hover Barrier , Doorkeeper , Murmuring Phantasm , Guardians of Meletis , Wall of Frost , Cloudfin Raptor

That way you keep the theme of your deck with Doorkeeper and Cloudfin raptor will act as another flying that gets +1+1 for each creature you lay down that has higher power or toughness, in your case you will have tons of creatures with more toughness which will make cloudfin raptor rather strong at some point if he's not removed or he dies.

you can try Jace's Phantasm it's an alternate source of winning or leave it not attacking to defend for a cheap 5/5
