Think i discovered a new combo. The combo is turn 1 diregraf ghoul, turn 2 heartless summoning. turn 3 falkenrath noble + gravecrawler. Turn 4 play gravecrawler from the graveyard 4 times, etc. Once you get out heartless summoning, falkenrath noble and gravecrawler you can play him from the graveyard over and over to trigger nobles ability and drain the opponents life. I tried building a deck around it but i think it can use work, tell me what you guys think.

It will work as long as you have the 1B mana to cast [Gravecrawler]]. But why use Falkenrath Noble instead of Blood Artist ? Check this deck out - Kamikaze!

I think he's using Falkenrath Noble over Blood Artist because he wants to run Heartless Summoning with it so Gravecrawler hits the graveyard every time its cast. The Artist won't be able to stay on the field otherwise.

thanks for linking to the deck squire. Also yea, i think thopter assembly would be interesting. Especially since i can cast it for only 4 with the heartless summoning.

i thought Gravecrawler would never hit the field if Heartless Summoning was out cus its defence would be 0 and thus go strait to the grave without actually dieing.

It has to hit the battlefield first. Cards will not know that they get -1/-1 until after they hit the fieD. Then it would go to the graveyard as soon as sna are checked

Sagi007 - it will technically enter the battlefield as a 1/0. After the creature spell finishes resolving, SBAs will be checked and send it to the grave for having 0 or less toughness. For all intents and purposes, it entered and then left the battlefield.

Also note that "living weapon" equipment like Batterskull work in the same manner. The germ token enters as a 0/0, but during the resolution of the same spell, has the equipment attached and gives it the buff to toughness allowing it to live. It will then have the buff during the next time SBAs are checked, allowing it to survive even though it entered as a 0/0.

Do you guys thinks its worth it to try putting it blood artist with a card like mortarpod? (to pump him enough to survive) I'm not sure if thats excessive or if it could work. thanks
