New powerhouse to be?!?

I was combing tthrough the rtr spoilers and came upon this insane card Viskra the Unseen. First off, I LOVE this card. It just seems so powerful because your opponent isn't going to kill it easily anytime soon (and if they do they are down a very valuable creature), it kills an anoyying nonland permanent right out of the gate, and its ultimate can spell death for anyone who can't prepare for it in 2 turns. While the card is going in my modern deck for sure, I wanted to make it work in standard as well. Golgari really doesn't have anything to go along with it so far in rtr so I decided on a 3rd color. That color being red. The deck so far is undefeated against other post rotation decks and I would appreciate it if you took a look at it and gave me your opionions!! RTR Jund
I don't know. Overhype will be a definite but I feel like she will find he place in some sort of ramp or transition attempts to control

I'm think GBU so that you can utilize Snapcaster Mage to recur control, ramp and dig spells. Take a look Vraska's Assassins.

Vraska the Unseen isn't overhyped. It's hyped.
I take it you don't understand what this card actually does. She goes to 6 on the turn she comes out, and most decks' only way of dealing with Planeswalkers is to attack them (usually over 2 or 3 turns). Vraska makes this a terrible option.
So then she just sits, getting bigger (killing any attackers), smashing things with Vindicate , or making 3 Phage the Untouchable tokens.

I'm loving the new possibilities in post-rotation standard. As of right now based on what's been spoiled from RTR, I think the best decks will be Jund, BR zombies, Grixis control, GW midrange (Thragtusks and Angels), and maybe/possibly UR Delver (it has access to a really good burn package available for the zombies match-up, still can play card:Runechanter's Pike, and Izzet Charm is sweet, but losing the new phyrexia spells hurts it a lot; time will only tell if Delver is still a top tier deck). Also, I expect mono-red to do well for the first couple of months as everyone adjusts to the new metagame.
P.S. Both the planeswalkers are good, IMO.

Holy crap! I totally forgot about token decks with Ratchet Bomb gone (and the populate mechanic). Good call, Ohthenoises.

:D I'm so happy that friggin thing is going. It was one of the only things, IMO, stopping werewolves from being good.

It's the reason I stopped playing my werewolf deck, too. God, I can't wait for standard to rotate! I'm going to play so much limited!!! And Chromatic Lantern is getting me so pumped up for playing more EDH. Also, I'm really digging the "can't be countered" spells for each guild. This set just looks really good so far.
My biggest prediction from the set: Guttersnipe is going to see play in both standard and modern. My reasoning for such a bold prediction? In standard, UR Delver should play him since it doesn't have access to Geist of Saint Traft . There are still lots of cheap spells for UR Delver to cast, and that little goblin helps you get the win faster (it applies pressure and a fast clock that the opponent must deal with, or lose). In modern, Storm decks can side him in and deal lethal damage while combo-ing out after 4-10 spells instead of 16-19 with Grapeshot .

Pillar of Flame is going to see a LOT of mainboard presence because of this. I'm about to go make a thread as we have kinda derailed the current one. Hi ho silver!

Pillar of Flame is going to be amazing. It'll COMLETELY screw over this new generation of Rock decks which rely on their creatures going to the graveyard.

So I just noticed that the deck you gave a link to was not to your own Jund deck, vila_a23. Here is a link to yours, deck:rtr-jund-06-09-12-1.

I am thinking that a B/G/W Vraska the Unseen deck could be sweet with mana ramp to get her out quick and Populate to overrun your opponent with lethal little assassins. Or you could replace the W with U and just make one of them unblockable.

I don't think her ultimate has too much value. The reasons why she's good is her first two abilities.

Yeah, Vraska's -8 is really there to give you something to spend loyalty counters on if there's nothing worth destroying with her -3, and if that's the case then her -8 will pretty much definitely win the game.
The best planeswalkers are the ones who can defend themselves after they're played, and considering her defense is essentially a board wipe, that gives her a whole lot of potential.

Is it too much of a stretch to say R/W/U Delver could be big? No.
Both Hallowed Fountain and Steam Vents are in RtR. When combined with Glacial Fortress , Sulfur Falls , and Clifftop Retreat , that's more than enough mana-fixing to get by.
Hell, most of the time, you wouldn't even have a land enter the battlefield tapped.

The new planewalker might be good in constructed, but it is a little expensive (but it's pretty fat which makes it better). It'll be pretty garbage in edh though, like most planewalkers are.

Lotleth Troll and Abrupt Decay make Golgari pretty playable on their own. Vraska the Unseen seems pretty overhyped to me. She's good, but isn't going to be as powerful as people think.
