New To Modern, Meep?

Sooo I'm very new to this scene when it comes to this format (Competitively at least!) and my friend told me this deck would be a good start. Any tips or ideas anyone? Also i need a little help on maybe HOW to play this more competitively?

Modern's a lot less nice when it comes to making a mistake. Your play should be a bit more simple and quick. I'd suggest taking out the Ajani Vengeant s for Ball Lightning s, but that's just my opinion. If you can consistently kill by turn three, then you'll be safe from most combo-oriented decks. Furthermore, as a tip, you should run out your creature-based damage first and save your spells for after the combo (if it happens). This way you can shave off the last few points of their health via spell and not have to worry about their creatures blocking you.
