Tips please fellow control players.. This is my first control deck and I need advice because I really want to win at my local fnm which is mainly U/W control, an esper, some jund, and two golgari midrange

in control mirror match ups the ability to splash black for thoughtseize or red for counterflux will give you a huge edge, counterflux stops their win con hard. also 2 elspeth and 2 aetherling seems kind of high main board, some decks run 3 elspeth 1 aetherling, or just 1 of each, you only need 1 elixir aswell.
Mutavault if you can will help apply pressure, in U/W its easy to play 3/4 of them and becomes a decent clock if they dont have spot removal

If I did the red for counterflux I would also run assemble the legion as another win-con right? I am not going to mess with the aetherling/elspeth combo it seems to be working well in playtesting.. Elixir I will probably take another out and for the counterflux/assemble the legion what should I take out? Probably AEtherling so -1 AEtherling -1 Elixir -2 Negate/ +1 Assemble the Legion/+2 counter flux?

i play american already, negate stays bc its 2 cmc and i just run 3 counterflux over 3 dissolve, assemble mb is pretty good, most run it in the side but personally i play 1aetherling 1 assemble 1 elspeth this gives 3 different win cons for a variety of decks

MBD basically losses to assemble and is very hard for them to win assuming you didnt get pack ratted, since it out paces pack rat, and keeps demon tapped, but they can fog aetherling over and over wih spot removal and downfall elspeth, while aetherling kills G/R monsters planeswalkers and fogs attacks, etc

For UW (I haven't played strict UW) id go
4 fountain/temple
2guildgate
4 Mutavault
6 Island
6 Plains

For UWR Im currently running
4 Steam Vents
4 Hallowed Fountain
4 Temple of Enlightenment
3 Sacred Foundry
3 Temple of Triumph
2 Mutavault
3 Island
3 Plains
Some decks run 27 lands with a 4th island, and originally I had basic mountains. Casting Chained to the Rocks and Anger of the Gods became slightly less consistant dropping from 4 foundry, 2 basic mts to 2 mutavaults and an extra plains but overall performs better, and Ive done away with Anger anyway from my SB.

Overall I think UW might be more consistant of a deck but from the sounds of your meta, I feel UWR is a better choice to win mirror matches, and my FNMs generally have me going 3-0 and draw to top 4.
