okay, i recently got into modern with my mono black infect deck and i love playing it because nobody expects it, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg plus it actually wins. so i was wondering what other modern decks are out there that aren't necessarily tier 1 but are still fun. thank you for any ideas.

@landgrafb ~ how does that deck not cost an arm and a leg. It's over $500. I mean it's a great deck but certainly not budget.

my deck!!! Sheoldred, Whispering One -†-BLΔCK-†- SΔCR‡F‡C3 and the price just went up because I added another urbog tomb of nameicantspell (15ish) and another Phyrexian Arena (5-6) u can easily play with only 1 or none urbog as usually it's not needed.

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth I believe is what you were going for. Cheers. Nice deck

i like Pyromancer's Ascension. the sheoldred deck looked awesome but what if your opponent doesn't have allot of creatures you have a ton of dead draws then.

Not really, there is only 8 specific removal spells, and then it becomes a simple midrange deck. To be fair just about every deck is weak when it's up against the wrong kind of deck. that's what makes this game so fun, there's no 100% sure win. ...and as a midrange deck, it can be pretty quick. turn 6/7 kills are fairly common in play tests and in the few real games I've been lucky enough to play. Obviously it's not a turn 4 winner, but u can get Obliterator out turn 4 :)

I'm an advocate for decks that aren't tier 1, and are actually feasible on a budget. (I consider anything under $125 under the "average" price to be feasible.)

Some of my builds, from most expensive to cheapest: When Drops Become Rivers, Tridents? We Prefer Teeth, and It All Started with a Blue Bear....

i like It All Started with a Blue Bear... you could add Muddle the Mixture to find Lord of the Unreal and Phantasmal Image . with When Drops Become Rivers have you every thought about Immortal Servitude ? here is my version of illusion tribal: just a figment of your imagination

If WDBR goes Mono-black, a pair of Immortal Servitude would go in.
