Offering EDH deck help!
Deck Help forum

A while back, I promised the TappedOut community a set of articles. I am no less busy now than I was then, but I am dedicating the time to compose and publish a series of EDH articles for the benefit of our players. In preparation for this work, I am offering my services as a veteran EDH player. Post your decks here and I'll take a look.
Each post should contain:
- A link to the deck.
- A description of what the deck is supposed to do.
- Any design limitations you have (e.g. no infinite combos).
- Your approximate budget.
- The kind of meta for which the deck is built (e.g. casual, tournament, etc.).

I can use some help on my EDH deck Survival. At any cost.. =)
It started out as a group hug deck (my playgroup is quite casual) but it eventually evolved into a durdly deck that just wants to survive til the end.
The deck tends to stop people from killing me despite their best attempts and frustrate opponents by recurring things like Pollen Lullaby and Rewind again and again with Codex Shredder + Trading Post . The key to all the shenanigans in the deck comes from Clock of Omens + Unwinding Clock .
Winning isn't my priority as I usually concede if I'm the second last person standing, unless I'm feeling particularly nasty ... xD
The land base feels lacking as I'm not sure which lands I should have since I started playing last year during RtR. I'm also looking for more 'durdle' cards, preferably non-creature / artifact ones. Some extra ramp and shuffle effects would be nice as well as I want to include Sensei's Divining Top in it eventually.
Don't really have a definite budget. So feel free to suggest anything!
Thanks for doing this btw. :)

Ehh... Why not? My deck is Trostani's Token Buddies and it's a Token deck, focused mainly around getting out big swingy tokens and winning via good ol' combat damage. It has a lot of ways to come back from sweepers and spot removal and deal with other swingy decks. However I have been considering a life-gain suite after M14, as you'll see in my deck updates.
I don't run anything like infinite combos or mass LD, though I would play cards like Wasteland if I could get my hands on my hands on one. Which brings me to the budget; while I do have some very pricey cards, I do not buy expensive singles. I will take any and all suggestions, I just may not add the cards in any time soon.
The deck was built for casual fun, but is also made to hold its own against tournament-quality decks, hence all the removal and utility.
Thanks a lot for offering to do this, Epochalyptik.

Basically mana ramp into Fireball /Firebreathing . Have tried to cram as much card advantage as possible.
Common cards ONLY :-)
No budget worries, commons are cheap ;-)
The deck is usually played in a casual format against regular EDH decks and other pauper EDH decks. The pauper decks are allowed to have infinite combos but not the regular decks. There exists much mass removal and a Savra deck in the meta so its important to have heaps of chumps out.
Thanks!

2: To win by infinite combo with my general. Also wins a lot with Dream Halls + Enter the Infinite .
3: It has to follow the mtgcommander banlist,
4: I use proxies so there is no budget.
5: Mainly built for casual play with friends and the local magic club.

- Mikaeus, the Unhallowed
- Amass a throng of undying zombies and win
- None, this is my first and only attempt thus far at an EDH deck
- ~$50 to $100
- casual

4: No budget, I want it to be the best it can be
5: I want this deck to be playable in a tournament setting

- Nightmare Walking on Two Legs
- Lay low while control other decks until there is the right opportunity to strike then hit hard and fast by letting loose a barrage of near-free creatures. In the case of one-on-one games just go all out and win with overwhelming force; other than that, disrupt decks while they start to gain a foothold in the fight.
- Modified ban list for my local meta (the only important thing to note is I am allowed to run Griselbrand ), no infinite combos, no "insta-win" conditions (anything that says a player wins or loses), no infect or poison, and nothing deemed "unfun" but that is decided later after people have time to play with and against each other's decks.
- A little bit of a budget but, I like to limit the number of expensive ($10+) cards and try to use more obscure but effective cards. Henchfiend of Ukor is a great example; he has won me many games because of how fast and hard he hits late game.
- Competitive, but with an emphasis on active, fun, and social games. Basicly we are playing to win, often betting on how to split the bill at restaurants or who has to drive places, but we all want to walk away from a game with the satisfaction of a fun and exciting game.

Forgot to mention in my post that land destruction is also a big no-no at the moment.

I have a couple that I would like to have looked over and analyzed for pointers so I can improve them for consistency. But I will post this only one for now (and the others only when/if you have the time and finished with the rest of the decks you have on your list to look at). For me this is a deck that I would like to take into a tournament and do well and possibly win. It is meant to be cut throat and kill off the players as quick as possible and be able to survive most if not all threats. I don't have all the cards for it that I want just yet, Replenish and Necropotence being the big two and Necropotence is in the mail but not included because I have not actually put in the deck yet. Replenish I'll pick up in a couple weeks.
Thanks a head of time.
Any questions you may have, just ask and i'll answer them as fully as I can.

youre the man epoc, my edh sucks and i dont get it. I look forward to seeing your articles. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/gravewalking/

Oh, the deck is based around skullbriar, so the idea is to put counters on him and deal damage as quick as possible, i guess.. Im pretty new to EDH and i have a hard time building a deck. I can afford some pricier cards if they are something i feel like i really need to have for the deck. I have no meta for EDH, only 2 of my other magic buddies play EDH, one i hardly ever see, and the other's deck is never organized.

- There's really no strong "theme" here. It's mostly just beating down with good stuff. Subthemes include big mana, big creatures, and drain effects. Sometimes Volrath and a couple activations of his ability can just win the game outright. Unfortunately the deck just feels bad. The curve makes it look like I should have enough interesting things to do for the first several turns of the game, but when playing the deck it doesn't feel like that happens very often.
- No real limitations for design, but our everyone in our group uses their best judgment to "self-censor" when it comes to avoiding decks that suck all the fun out of a game. I'll take that into account when considering any suggestions.
- No real limitations for budget, but most things will probably be accumulated veeeeery sloooooowly, as I usually hold out to try to find something for trade before I finally break down and make a purchase.
- My core group is heavily casual, like damn. However, that doesn't mean we aren't good players or we don't play to win. We have some crazy powerful stuff going on sometimes but it's tempered by the aforementioned self-censoring. We don't get hurt feelings if someone just up and wins if it was clear we could have stopped him but didn't. This is also one of the decks I usually carry around with me to other places in case someone wants to play a pick-up game, and those opponents are all over the spectrum.

Before I start, can I just wish you, Epochalyptik a thank you on behalf of the community here at tappedout. You're a real hero for taking your free time out, to not only provide EDH related articles, but to comment on poeple's decks is just the icing on the cake. Thanks man!
Here's the current Lazav deck I'm trying to work on. I just can't seem to get him how I want him: Copy all the things! Lazav EDH. At the moment, there are just too many cards and ideas I have bouncing around that I want to fit in. Some advice on what to cut would be awesome.
The deck is supposed to be a clone/steal effect shell, with traditional U/B control elements (counterspells and removal), mill effects and U/B goodstuff. There isn't really any design limitations I can think of. Anything goes really. The budget for the deck would be approx ~$400. This can go higher or lower, depending on if I can trade for specific cards, although single cards of $50+ are usually out of my price range. Finally, my meta is fairly casual, we're all only out to play good games of EDH after all, but I'm not going to deliberately nerf the deck of powerful cards to fit in.
Thanks again for your time and comments

Cant wait to read the article. I have 2 decks Arien Nation and Rafiqageddon. Both could use some work.
- Nation is a Primal Surge deck, that looks to empty the library and attack infinitely or sacrifice creatures for damage, reshuffle the yard into the library and repeat the process
Rafiq is a marogeddon themed deck that aims to keep your opponents board clear of lands and other pesky permanents while filling your hand with cards and swinging with Maro -ish creatures.
- Nation has a budget of $10 or less per card, unless i own the card already or have a realistic chance of trading for it
Rafiq has no budget
- Mostly casual, with the occasional small tourney at the LGS

This deck is a blend of all my pet decks into one. The upcoming Legend rule change will make things far more interesting for this deck. The point of the deck is to keep the game going until I get my own winning combo off. In the mean time just chip away at opponents health while keeping mine untouched. It's a blend of copying both spells and creatures while keeping someone's winning combo from taking off before mine does. I want the deck to be fun to play and play against first and foremost.
This is for mostly casual format but I can play it at tournies too. I have this deck mostly built, that link I was shooting for a final version, since I have having a hard time deciding where to go with the deck. I avoid any infinite combo, regardless if it's frowned upon or not, though mega mana jump isn't too much different, it's still limited. I don't know if land destruction is kosher or not, but I avoid those too. Budget is unlimited, though things like the original dual lands won't happen for years to come, so I didn't link those, any other suggestions are welcome.
May 30, 2013 11:07 a.m.
oh, also on mine, Budget for this one is near limitless. I cringe at paying 100+ for a card, but willing to if it means the difference between winning and losing regularly. Though, original dual lands, I would/will.
May 30, 2013 11:09 a.m.
I have an Animar, Soul of Elements deck that I play casually, the above link is more of the version I have idealized in my mind (therefore this one has no budget restrictions). You've actually popped over once before, but I'd like a more in-depth critique. My biggest issue is a total lack of familiarity with the cardpool for competitive EDH (particularly the mana base).
The goal is to get Animar out alongside of a draw engine, hit a haste effect, spill the deck onto the table and kill people. It does have some creature ETB infinite combo's with alluren so Animar can be maxed out, as well as an interaction between Throne of Geth , Arcbound Reclaimer , and Dross Scorpion that I don't understand 100% (I'm pretty sure I can proliferate indefinitely provided I have 2 artifact creatures besides the 3 combo pieces and either Aluren or a pumped Animar to cast them for free). Thanks a lot.

- A Judge's Nightmare
- This deck is aimed to doing one of the following things: make people laugh at the silliness of cards, make people get headaches from all the complicated scenarios (Shahrazad on Eye of the Storm for example), and just change the rules so much that people forget what game they're playing.
- No limitations.
- No budget.
- I would say casual, but casual usually means "not uber mean to everyone" and I am not sure if this fits in that category...
May 30, 2013 11:44 a.m.
This is a really great service your doing Epochalyptik, Thanks!
Here's my current project:
- Scion Flash-Hulk
- The goal is to win with the flash hulk combo
- The only limitation is the duel commander ban list
- No budget for now, since unless I really enjoy how it plays, it will be used solely for cockatrice play
- The meta is very competitive in duel commander, very few casual players exist
May 30, 2013 11:48 a.m.
- Attack of the Ents (help appreciated)
- Gain life to increase survivability, then use treefolk to walk all over them
- I'd prefer no infinite combos
- Id like to keep the total cost of the deck under about $250, no card being more than about $20
- Mostly casual setting
Also have Elemental Awakening. Cheat out the big creatures with Horde of Notions and swing early and often. The rest fall in the same conditions as Attack of the Ents.
Thanks again for your time and any suggestions you have

Epochalyptik, I've always found your advice on EDH to be extremely usefuland sagely. You're like the Gandalf of EDH. My current project is:
When There's No More Room in Hell...
Basically, it's a Grixis deck using Sedris, the Traitor King
, built around using unearth and other reanimation effects to use ETB effects over and over, while removing obstacles my opponent(s) may throw in my way to allow my reanimated army a victory.
I am interested in implementing more combos (I'm okay with infinite) and perfecting the land base. In addition, I feel my creature base could use some work as I'm not terribly familiar with red creatures (I don't play red very often). Hell, I'd like to implement a little bit more red period. I am also interested in ways to include more control spells (counterspells, bounce, removal, etc).
My budget is $500 (I'm willing to go a little higher, but not much), and I intend to play this deck on a slightly more than casual level, but not quite tourney level... competitively for sure.
May 30, 2013 11:51 a.m.
Thank you so much man! This is an awesome service :D
2 - The deck is meant to be centered on metalcraft and extra combat phases with some light tribal stuff. Honestly though I just have no idea how to make a Boros deck work in a large-scale multiplayer setting.
3 - None really. I don't want to use cards that'll make my friends hate me though.
4 - Ill probably spend $100-$200 on this.
5 - very casual multiplayer setting. That said, I do like to win :)
May 30, 2013 12:18 p.m.
Ditto on the thanks to Epochalyptik and others who might be piggybacking on this awesome sauce!!
- Teysa EDH v.1
- Goal is to combo out. I want the deck to be full of cool little combos that do all sorts of cool things. Triskelion /Mikaeus, the Unhallowed ; Sanguine Bond /Exquisite Blood ; Palace Guard /Ghostly Possession ; Teysa, Orzhov Scion /Jar of Eyeballs . Like those. I probably need a full complement of tutors too.
- Painter's Servant is allowed in my meta as long as he's not combined with Grindstone or Iona, Shield of Emeria , or other completely unfun hard lock down. Otherwise, we mostly stick to the EDH Ban List.
- I'd like to not pay more than $10 for any one card, with a lot of them being under $5, ideally. That being said, something AWESOME like Enlightened Tutor was worth the price.
- Meta is casual. Mostly creature/tribal based, one pre retcon Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind /Curiosity type deck, and a couple competition level EDHs that really shouldn't be taken into consideration, because they always win, and they're no fun anyway.

- Cuddles!
- Currently I'm not fussed about winning, our playgroup are all just starting EDH and I've a feeling there will be a mix of semi-competitive decks and a few less effective ones. I want to try to even the playing field It might be nice to pull a win out of no where, maybe with an enter the infinite in to a flashing lab maniac at the end step before drawing my empty library?
- No limits, but I started in RtR so card pool is limited, alot of the cards in the deck I got from a dude at work, others I bought online.
- I'd rather not spend much at all, as an example I was going to get a Time Spiral but the cheapest I could find it was 14, not sure I want to put even that into a single card in my first EDH deck.
- Cannot say, we're all building our first decks. Based upon our standard decks I'm expecting reasonably powerful decks, but mostly a laid back attitude.
May 30, 2013 12:46 p.m.
1) EDH Full of Art
2) Have fun with artifacts. Likes to utilize Mycosynth Lattice
in combination with Hellkite Tyrant
and things like Gorilla Shaman
.
3) Not too any limitations. I just don't want to be targeted right off the bat, I'd like the game play to be fun or at least not boring and demeaning for the other players (hence the small amount of counter magic and no Jace, the Mind Sculptor
). Having an option of how to play out the deck differently is nice.
4) It's a slow process so a budget isn't really defined (and why there is a Volcanic Island
and Capture of Jingzhou
in the decklist).
5) It's pretty much a casual deck that can compete against some more serious decks if needed.
May 30, 2013 1:17 p.m.
Like my friend onces said, this deck is build on lying, cheating and stealing. Copy and steal your opponents cards while controling the game and milling them down. Does very well with surviving, but not so much on finishing opponents. It's really annoying to play against apparently, dispite it's record.
I'm not a huge fan of infinite combos but I'm not against using them, and I refuse to use game winning condition cards when playing casual with friends(Hive Mind/Slaughter Pact or Leveler/Labrotory Maniac for ex.)
I know it looks like I put a lot of money into this deck, however I pulled well over half of them. My budget is sort of on the low side right now.
Casual or tournament. I guess I'm just looking for a little more flow and end game prowless in casual games, though if I were going to use an EDH deck in a tournament it would be this one and think I could switch it over very easily.
Thanks for taking the time to look at mine and everyone's deck!
May 30, 2013 1:21 p.m.
- Rith + Tokens = ... Profit?
- Strong token-centered theme with some "goodstuff-choices" for each color. Usually I'm strongest with cards like Doubling Season , Tooth and Nail , Defense of the Heart and Wild Pair .. and I sure love to build my defense with Privileged Position / Sterling Grove / Blazing Archon a lot of times.
- Only limitation is the banlist and somewhat instantly game-ending combos.. I only want to maintain a strong battlefield presence and keep the action in my own hands..
- I don't actually have a budget right now which might be noticed from the deck itself.
- Meta is a mix of semi-competitive (Grand Arbiter Augustin IV and Obzedat causing a lot of control and chaos) and casual players (Random weaker RTR-block / Commander legends) where I find myself from the semi-competitive end. I enjoy multiplayer action of 4 to 6 players and the deck is designed to work in longer run.
Nice service you're having here Epochalyptik, keep on doing good work! You gave me some advice around 2 years ago for this very same deck (there's been a lot of changes after that time!) but seemingly I still haven't put that Beastmaster Ascension in there! ;)

First off Epoch, this is awesome. The amount of press every person should get by simply posting their decks here will generate improvements at the very least. I know I'll be checking out a few of them to see what input I can give.
My deck is called Mayael and Garruk's Wild Pair-ty
This deck is a Wild Pair /Birthing Pod tool box deck with a decent amount of recursion built in to help recover from board wipes. Essentially, the plan is to drop the appropriate fatty at the appropriate time until I can get an Avacyn-Privileged Position lock on my permanents. Then only Cyclonic Rift can stop me.
The main theme is an Angel-based lock with loads of answers. While cards like Empress Galina are a pain in my ass, I really like the legendary angel feel of it. It's an epic feeling to have three or four mythic angel legends on the board at the same time. Also, I'm not totally opposed to infinite combos, but I get much more satisfaction winning without them. (I removed the Tyrant of Discord /Realm Razer combo for this reason. I wouldn't want somebody to blow up all my permanents...)
As far as budget goes, I'm not opposed to proxies, but I feel bad running too many expensive non-land ones.
Finally, this is for a Competitive Casual environment. For us that means certain people will attack for 140 general damage on turn 4, and then have their general Condemn ed. Everyone likes to win, but of the 6 of us that regularly play only myself and one other guy are regular serious threats. I'm not cut-throat, hence no infinite combos and playing with a Timmy - Vorthos Mayael the Anima deck. Mostly for fun with a plan to win

Thanks for all you are doing with this project and I hope you'll look at my deck
The goal is really just to have fun doubling things and appreciate the shenanigans that follow
I want to keep an even split between creatures and spells to match up with Riku's backstory of mastering both aspects of magic
I only have another $30-40 to spend on this deck
It is a casual group, but we do use pretty powerful decks, and the two most common commanders I run into are Sen Triplets and Tariel, Reckoner of Souls
May 30, 2013 2:01 p.m.
This is a very kind thing for you to do. It's always nice to get a veteran players experience. I actually have taken a look at your dreamcrusher deck a couple times though I dont have any suggestions for it at the moment.
Anywho, onto the deck.
- Does this make me look fat?
- The deck is supposed to drop fatties mainly at instant speed, via Mayael herself or a variety of tutors and cheat effects. It is supposed to act like a tool box to answer anything on the board.
- No infinite combos if possible
- No budget restriction
- My meta is currently casual, with quite a few aggro decks. I would like to upgrade it to tournament quality if possible.
Thank you for taking time to do this.
May 30, 2013 2:05 p.m.
2.Infinite combo as quick as possible using any of the combo's that are in there
3.No restrictions except multiplayer ban list
4.Trying to keep it under 400 will push it up to that though
5.There is a weekly commander tourney at my lgs that i want to win, Niv and Riku are the two big commander decks that do well each week
May 30, 2013 2:12 p.m.
Really nice idea, I've already got some help from you, but here's an other deck I'd like to perfect:It currently lack speed and resilience, I really want to improve that.
- Ridiculously Threatening Auras [Bruna EDH]
- Currently, get Bruna online ASAP and muder somebody while protecting her, rinse-repeat.
- My optimal goal is to have more body to use and be able to recur my enchantment more often considering the amount of boardwipe in my meta, I still want the deck to be able to go Voltron but enchantment are always a 2for1 for my opponents.
- None, I can think of.
- Under 100$ extra from what I currently have (I don't want to spend an extra 400$ on new cards, everything in the current list has been Acquire d)
- Casually competitive; we play casually but none of our deck isn't ready to win, I'd like that my playgroup run more answer, but this shouldn't be a problem: brute force is gonna make them learn :D

Despite the name, I don't intend on countering every spell, just simple monoblue control, helped by the engine that is my general. Gain card advantage, swing with little guys or with a large Runechanter's Pike, and win. There are no design limitations, and budget isn't an issue. The meta is for competitive 1v1 EDH. Note, my area doesn't use the french banned list, so Sol Ring and co. are legal.
I'm always looking for ways to improve this deck, been using it for about two years now.
May 30, 2013 2:50 p.m.
2) Win with combat damage (not usually commander) or combo out in a long game
3) Maintain vampire tribal theme, including non-creature spells. As few tutors as possible.
4) No limit, cheaper cards preferred
5) Casual meta
May 30, 2013 3:06 p.m.
My deck is Holy s**t that's a lot of f**king Elves.
My goal is to get a lot of elves out and swing for the win.
My limits are please only modern (I have the EVG print of Heedless One), try to keep the theme (elf tokens only!) and please no cards over $10. My meta is very casual, and the decks change rapidly.
Thanks so much!
May 30, 2013 3:15 p.m.
- Phelddagrif Planechase
- Turtle hard while dropping subtly-game-altering enchantments, artifacts, and creatures to create interesting and fun game states a-la a planechase deck, with an eventual win-con of general damage through Phelddagrif . I consider a card worth playing if it either helps me turtle, or changes the game state in an interesting way.
- I cannot include any cards which have a strong potential to simply hand someone the win (Awakening , etc.)
- <=$150
- Casual meta.

Great idea. Urborg School for Mimes is what ever it needs to be. This Mimeoplasm can end things before it has started, or drag it out till they concede. Copies, Buries, Counters, One-Shots, Overwhelms. Perplex can transmute for 16 cards. Strong enough to stand without The Mimeoplasm . Mean enough to turn your enemies strengths into weakness. Stamina enough to outlast a Jund Charm , Tormod's Crypt , Relic of Progenitus , and 2 Bojuka Bog s in the same match. My group is semi-casual. I know it is one of the most used Commanders, but it is just so fun to play. I tried to make it fit well in duel or round table settings. One-hit kills is what I usually go for. Absolutely, no infinite combos. Budget is slim. Any expert advice would be greatly appreciated.
May 30, 2013 5:11 p.m.
- Commander Niv
- Izzet control, lots of artifacts, tezzeret, non-combo, draw plenty of cards, steal creatures, control the board.
- Legal commander deck
- Try not to suggest cards over $20
- Casual kitchen table
May 30, 2013 5:13 p.m.
Use artifacts as ramp and utility pieces to pump mana into Ashling the Pilgrim , or summon Eldrazi and other huge stuff
No limits.
No budget for now.
Casual play at my LGS, but I still want top performance.
And Thank you so much for donating your time, knowlege and effort into the community

Epochalyptik, this is awesome. I really respect your opinions on EDH, and would greatly appreciate your input.
- Vendilion Clique EDH
- It's a combo-control deck with an emphasis on control. I like to make tons of mana and draw tons of cards.
- Like you, I want to use the most busted and ridiculous cards. If they unbanned Power in EDH, I'd play it in a heartbeat.
- No budget. I understand the value behind those expensive cards.
- 1-on-1 Competitive play. We follow the original ban list, not the French Commander list.
Thanks again!

Nice offer, i will take you up on it. could you look at my kaalia's reality deck please?
the deck theme is too kill the opponent as quickly as possible via angel/demon/dragons.
i'm okay with anything i guess.
i would prefer it if the cards were under $15...
it is mainly a casual deck although i am thinking of bringing it to a tournament one day...
May 30, 2013 7:12 p.m.
Wow, that's pretty cool Epoch! Hmm Which deck. Let's look at this one!
- That's Karadorable.
- As you can probably surmise it's a graveyard recursion deck. Using things like Disciple of Bolas to gain card advantage and things like Jarad/Nefarox/Mortivore/Lhurgoyf as wincons.
- No real limitations, i want to keep along the Graveyard theme.
- I dont really have a budget for it. I dont generally buy expensive cards but i am always trading up.
- This was made mostly for casual play with my friends. BUT we each have very strong decks there are a couple Riku decks out there some Niv, Animar, Crosis, Trostani... We have quite the little playgroup.
Thank you again for taking the time out to do this. (i have 3 other commander decks that i wouldnt mind having looked at by Tapped-Out peeps.)

Thanks for doing this Epochalyptik.
- Army of the Corpse-Born (Grimgrin, Corpse-Born as commander)
- This deck aims to win quickly and without interruption. It could probably be best described as Combo-Control.
- I have no design limitations, as long as the deck still remains EDH legal.
- I have no budget, but please don't say Sensei's Divining Top or Damnation . I believe them to be unnecessarily expensive, which is why I haven't included them.
- I'm not planning to take this to any tournaments, but I would like it to be able to stand up in a tournament.
Once again, thanks Epochalyptik.

trying to do red black suicide, not so much a king maker, but kill everyone before I die too, and make sure i have a way to clear out anything major that could kill me
Only limitation is the commander ban list
No budget, i'll be picking stuff up as I go, work in progress of sorts with the exception of paying out the ass for land... not a fan
Meta is very political, but aggro at the same time skullbriar and grand arbiter decks show up, and scion decks as well

1.A commander that doesn't need one..2. The goal is to win with borbor enraged and gruu ragebeast out. Get as many creatures out as posible and go to town.3. My only limitation is no banned edh cards.4. No budget for this deck. I'll probably buy or trade for the cards.5.Very Competive.

Heralds Proclamation This is my Kaalia EDH Deck. Now Kaalia is a pretty straightforward commander as to what the deck is.
The creature base i know could use some work.
I want ever Tutor and Mana ramp card that is available in R/B/W.
My budget is no card worth more than 100 dollars. The deck as a whole has no budget.
Currently the deck runs its standard Tribe creatures for Kaalia. It also runs as many Flickers, Tutors and Mana ramp that i can find. Not having green really really hurts me. I need a ways to protect myself form Land destruction and Field Wipes.

Great idea, Epochalyptik! I've been a fan of your Dominus ever since I first saw it on here, so I'll be interested to hear your takes on these other decks in the thread.
- Grave Robbery [Tariel EDH]
- The goal is take over the mid-late game with powerful, synergetic cards and engines. There is also a minor Angel subtheme. More importantly, though, I want to have an 'answer' to as many 'unfun' strategies as possible. I serve as something of a moderating influence in my local casual EDH group, acting as the guy who keeps the games fair and balanced between players of different levels of skill and deck qualities.
- Limitations: No mass LD, no instant-win combos. Accidental combos are fine, but I never build with combos as a goal. I'd prefer to have no mass LD at all, but I've had to add Catastrophe as a silver bullet in the case of some hyper-aggressive ramp based strategies.
- No budget, but I'll be scrutinizing any card > $20 in value.
- The local meta is casual--but we have some very creative deckbuilders who tend to build some scary stuff. However, I do have a much more competitive EDH tournament coming up in a few months, so if something strikes you as being a great competitive idea, please let me know!

Also, this is a great opportunity to promote your deck and offer your own help to others.
If anyone would care to do the same for me, my primary EDH deck is Dominus - Dreamcrusher Edition.
It is a combo-control deck designed for a tournament meta, so there are no restrictions. It is meant to use the most ruthless and brutal cards and strategies in EDH to win tournament pods. The budget is limitless, but every card should be worth including.
