Omniscience!!!

Deck Help forum

I am making a Green-Blue-Black deck, it's mainly black and blue, with lots of artifacts. The black is there, because of Increasing Ambition . I need help figuring out what cards to add. I currently have a lot of Myr cards, because they give you mana, and can help with playing Omniscience .

I also have Birds of Paradise due to the fact that they can give you mana of any color.

High Tide , Piracy ? Yea they are older but they are really useful for trying to cast Omniscience

Piracy won't ramp you at all, so long as your opponents know what they are doing. They'll just tap their own lands in response to float the mana before you can tap them for yourself.

It's really only used to forcing your opponent to tap out before casting a big spell.

What I use for this is: Pristine Talisman . Next turn, drop a Gilded Lotus , tap, pay 2 life, Phyrexian Metamorph the lotus. Bam, turn 6 Omniscience

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will try to add in as many as I can. I also have another question, I have Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon , Harbor Serpent , Primordial Hydra , Stormtide Leviathan , and Spire Monitor as my more powerful cards to use when I have Omniscience , but do I need more, or less? (Any suggestions?)

Primordial Hydra isn't good with Omniscience . If you want to make X a value other than 0, you'd have to pay for it. If youcast Primordial Hydra using Omniscience , it comes out with no counters and dies.

I know that, but it usually takes 10 turns to get out Omniscience , and by then, I typically have out 1-3 Gilded Lotus es, and 10 mana. plus, if I can't get out Omniscience early, I always have Primordial Hydra to turn to.

I averaged out how many turns it took me to cast Omniscience btw.

If your left with a bunch of premanents that ramp after you cast omniscience, you don't really need omniscience anymore...

Dark Ritual and Non-gilded cards that say Lotus in the name should be your mana sources, leaving a bunch of spaces for answers and finishers.

In all fairness, you cant blue sun for 11 with omniscience.

Yeah, but if you're hard-casting Omniscience , couldn't you have already won the game? 10 mana is a ton of mana.

It all depends on how many powerful cards I get right away, and sometimes I have less than 10 mana, I was just saying typically, and I didn't average my mana at all. Plus, it depends on your opponent too, if they get a bunch of powerful creatures off fast, then sometimes you'll have a ton of dead creatures, and Omniscience can be what you need to win.

Also, at the earliest, I got Omniscience out on turn 7, and with this deck, it's possible to get it out on turn 6.

Maybe try Mana Bloom. With it, you could use 6 mana to make ten (eleven) the next turn. Might be worth messing with for testing.

Thanks, that would be really nice, I'll make sure to add this in later.

Wow...I'm totally wrong about Mana Bloom and now I don't much like the card for anything but color fixing in a deck that doesn't need to be too quick. Sorry.

@zandl Of course it's a lot of mana (not to sound rude). I've made a type of Omniscience deck, and most of the time get smashed before I even get a lotus down. I said card:Blue Sun's Zenith, because what if you don't happen to have a win-con in your hand when you cast it? It's just hoping they can't kill you in a turn. One win-con you're not always guaranteed to get without a blue sun is card:Sorin's Vengeance+Archaeomancer . It's just for insurance, if you will
