Hello everyone. So I'm sure at some point you have thought or at least heard about how good Esper is going to be in the upcoming standard. I mean come on Obzedat, Ghost Counci, WHY YOU SO GOOD. Anyway, I have provided a shell for the deck that I believe is going to be the strongest contender here: post gtc esper. I am posting this thread to get a group effort going. I want the tappedout community to aide and work together on this deck in everything from perfecting the mana base, to actually perfecting the number of cards in each spot and the ccorrect cards for each spot including the sideboard. I think that by the time gatecrash comes around that the community can have this deck functioning like a well oiled machine and I along with everyone else can expect to run this at an fnm and take away wins like nothing. Hell, I'd venture to say that we could even get this thing good enough to take to an scg open or some other big deck and post really good results.
I agree that Feeling of Dread is much better at holding down the board against creature decks but does the versatility of the charm not make up for it? I mean feeling is kind of just a dead card against other control decks where as the charm can at least draw you a card.

My friend runs a standard deck with Gideon and some other crap. Azorius Charm is hilarious for its lifelink ability against burn decks. I think it's a meta call, honestly.

What makes you think esper isn't already good in standard?

I never said it wasn't. It was hurt badly though with Darkslick Shores gone. And at the moment it just isn't as powerful as its Bant counterpart.

Fair enough. Regardless, I love esper and will do what I can to contribute to your deck. =)

I used to not be a fan of it, but after playing with it I think there is some argument to Feeling of Dread over Azorius Charm . It interacts better with RDW, BR Zombies and most other fast aggro decks. It just feels like sick value to use a single resource to hold down the board until you sweep with Supreme Verdict . And while it can't cycle or be used for lifelink, being able to tap down blockers can just as often be relevant.
