Primordial Hydra mono land troubles

Deck Help forum

So my deck is pretty much finished but I feel like having made it three colors was making it a little slow. Any suggestions to making it smoother?

I wish to add Transguild Promenade but I dont have room for it, and i dont like not having the normal lands it would take. Is it worth it?

deck:primordial-wrath is the link to your deck. I would recommend checking out the formatting guide as you'll get much better responses if people don't need to dig through your profile to find the deck in question.

Well running those 3 colors will get a lot easier come Gatecrash with the re-introduction of Watery Grave and Breeding Pool . Overgrown Tomb would also help. The Innistrad and M13 dual lands only get better with the inclusion of shock lands since it counts as both of the types.

I would give serious consideration to dropping blue. Fog Bank isn't that great with all the removal and trample around these days, in addition to the decks that simply won't care at all. Evil Twin is alright, I guess. Back from the Brink pay 6 mana to not impact the board that turn, it's not a very good card. Encrust , you have Murder and there's still better removal in your colors than this.

Another option, drop a few of your less impact spells for Farseek , which lets you ramp and get Swamps or Islands and even better - shock lands.

Thank you for your help. Everyone is saying to drop blue, so in their place, what should I add to make it more effective? I'm thinking maybe Tormented Soul or Sheltering Word . Maybe even Treasured Find to replace Back from the Brink. What I really don't know about it replace fog bank with creatures that would synergize with the deck. Thoughts?

Tormented Soul would require more help. It's basically irrelevant unless you manage to draw an Increasing Savagery as well.

I would actually try just running some Farseek or Arbor Elf for ramping. The deck wants to cast big creatures, and since you don't have full dual lands there are some rough casting costs here, like you almost never want to see Predator Ooze and Vampire Nighthawk in the same hand.
