Prototype of Elf Deck (casual)

Deck Help forum

I finally just went through the entire magiccards.com's adcanced search on all elf cards. I pulled out every single elf card that I though would have good synergy with all the others. I hope to create the ideal casual elf deck to destroy my friends(: Any and all suggestions encouraged before I create the deck.

MANA ELVES:

Elvish Archdruid | Elvish Harbinger | Joraga Treespeaker | Mul Daya Channelers | Oracle of Mul Daya | Priest of Titania | Wirewood Channeler

COUNTER ELVES:

Bramblewood Paragon | Elvish Vanguard | Immaculate Magistrate | Joraga Warcaller | card:Titania's Chosen

"+X/+X" AND "#/#" ELVES:

Drove of Elves | Elvish Archdruid | Elvish Champion | Ezuri, Renegade Leader | Imperious Perfect | Jagged-Scar Archers | Mul Daya Channelers

CREATURE CASTING ELVES:

Elvish Harbinger | Elvish Piper | Mul Daya Channelers | Sylvan Messenger | card:Talara's Battalion | card:Wren's Run Vanquisher

OTHER GREAT ELVES:

Elvish Soultiller | Kithkin Mourncaller | Norwood Priestess | Rhys the Exiled

ARTIFACT: Coat of Arms

PLANESWALKER: Nissa Revane

I am not adding any instants, sorceries, or enchantments due to the fact of a few of the creatures' abilities of revealing the top of my card on deck. If you know of any that would really go well with this deck, do tell!!

So, you've seen all of the cards, which of them do you think should be included and maybe how much? A few I KNOW I will add but its hard to decide!

Also, if any of you know of any nonbasic lands for this deck, let me know. Thanks.

Elvish Promenade is a must for Elf decks, esp using Elvish Archdruid and other cards that rely on the number of elves in play.

Door of Destinies > Coat of Arms . Cheaper and only affects you.

Elvish Champion is bad in a mirror match. Imperious Perfect would be better.

I made a semi-competitive elf deck a couple years ago; a combo deck using the typical Nettle Sentinel/Heritage Druid combo to make infinite mana to swing with Joraga Warcaller.

For a casual aggro elf deck, I used to have great success with Timberwatch Elf, Alpha Status and Treetop Scout, while using Wirewood Lodge and Wellwisher in the long game. That was a long time ago though.

I really recommend holding back on the elves that produce mana that cost more than 2, except for Elvish Archdruid. Except for Joraga Warcaller though, I don't really like any of the counter Elves. I've never seen them do much.

how does that make infinite mana? Nettle Sentinel says it untaps whenever you play a green spell. Heritage Druid has you tap three creatures. It doesn't make sense to me

You said your holding back on instants and sorceries, but I would seriously consider Genesis Wave . You make so much mana with these little buggers, every elf deck I've seen run it does well with it...almost auto-include. At least a one of.

Check out my deck card:Nissa's Chosen for some ideas if you like. Priest of Titania and Elvish Archdruid are probably autoincludes. It really depends on how you want to win. My deck is geared to win off a huge Genesis Wave into a Sadistic Hypnotist /Nath of the Gilt-Leaf combo.

My own little Elf brew Crush! Crush! Crush! Crush'em! has lots of potential

To clarify: Nettle Sentinel and Heritage Druid are the key components to the famous Combo Elves deck that has been around for a while. I still see people trying to play it at legacy tournaments every so often. Google it. You should find it.

You attempt to get Heritage Druid out with two Nettle Sentinels, any CMC<2 elf in play and in hand, and Cloudstone Curio. Tap the Nettle Sentinels and another elf to make 3 mana with Heritage Druid (note: does not require haste), use the mana to play any elf with CMC 2 or less, bouncing an elf back to hand. The Nettle Sentinels untap, and you should have 3 untapped elves and one or two mana floating. Rinse and repeat.

It seems like it requires many parts, but it's still potent without the Cloudstone Curios, just making a ton of mana, drawing cards with Regal Force and Elvish Visionary. It's usually fuelled by Glimpse of Nature, but that's been banned in Modern, effectively ending that deck's career in the format. It is, however, not as difficult as you might think to pull off. I usually go off by turn 3 with a decent hand.

I merely suggested it as an alternative to the traditional Elf Lord Crush type decks.

A great elf to have that works well with Immaculate Magistrate and Joraga Warcaller is the Ambush Commander . The only downfall would be if you played against any extinction or land destruction decks.

I really do not like using Ambush Commander because a lot of people play pretty mean poke decks around here. Turning all my forests into creatures then someone playing a Goblin Sharpshooter with a Basilisk Collar would make me cry hahaha. I like the Skyshroud Poacher and Seeker of Skybreak combo lets you pull out tons of elves and if you have Seedborn Muse you can do it on everyone's turn in large multiplayer games
