Rakdos Raid / Relentless Dead / Slaughterhouse

Deck Help forum

I am in search of a black/red deck. I've narrowed it down to these 3 decks:

Slaughterhouse

Rakdos Raid

Relentless Dead

Some info:

  • I'm new to magic.
  • I've got a limited number of cards. (About 180? Counting lands)
  • My decks lack focus, because I tried to build it from boosters (and one intro pack, Izzet Ingenuity).
  • to get an idea of what cards I own, check out my profile (deck:purple-smog, deck:black-blood-16-12-12-1, deck:izzet-newbie).
  • Before ordering singles, I want a good base deck first and later I can decide what I want.
  • I play mostly casual, and later on ill be playing standard.
So, any suggestions from those 3? Thank you!

I linked the wrong slaughterhouse. I meant the intro deck.

I've never played with Slaughterhouse or Relentless Dead, but I did buy Rakdos Raid, so I can at least wax poetic on the Cult a little. Black/Red is a very aggro strategy right now. Rakdos Raid offers a lot of your foundation for that, but the problem I've come to realize with Rakdos doing aggro is that generic aggro can do aggro better. You'll definitely end up buying your staples as singles, but they're not as expensive as cards some other decks call for. My deck Murder Weapon began life as the Rakdos Raid starter, then grew a little with the Wrack and Rage event deck. But you can see it's not the same at all anymore.

But if burn and smashing violent creatures into your opponent's face is your play style, Rakdos is a lot of fun.

Any more recommendations?

I could get two decks I suppose. Slaughterhouse and Rakdos Raid for example, so I have more choice what to play.
