Reanimator without Liliana?

Deck Help forum

Playing against solar flare has taught me that graveyard shenanigans are awesome. I would like to build a reanimator deck but I don't have the budget for Liliana or the U/W lands to accommodate the solar flare skeleton, so I am looking at doing a U/B build that might stand a chance in standard without Liliana of the Veil . The main thing that I'm curious about is if there are better options than Merfolk Looter and Grimoire of the Dead as discard outlets for when I draw creatures that I want in my graveyard.

Horrifying Revelation and Mulch . Whites really only there for Unburial Rites flashback. Personally, I wish Liliana Vess was still legal lol.

Forbidden Alchemy. And with Jace, Memory Adept's +1 you can draw 1 card and mill yourself 1.

Unfortunately, there are few cards that will positively help you discard. Jin-Gitaxias will let you discard, but of course you have to have him out first, which is part of the problem, haha. Smallpox and Civilized Scholar  Flip  FlipMTG Card: Homicidal Brute are the only two other good cards for letting you discard. It seems everyone else replying just wants to mill you, lol.

though, with the drawback of not turning into a beater.

And double comment because now I see you're looking for better than the looter. I'm not sure there is much of a better option for that cmc, and I tend to worry about curve a bit much so maybe that's not really a problem. I think the looter is about the best option for the role it plays.
