Retrying my old Cleric deck

Hi folks!

So I recently started playing Magic again. Pretty much the only stuff I hadn't given away was this old pure white Cleric deck.

Playing it now, I realized the deck was pretty hopeless, so I took it apart for other stuff. However, I recently had the idea to try my hand at it again.

My main idea was to use lots of enchantments such as Arrest, Pacifism and Defang to keep the enemy incapacitated while using Ethereal Armor and other stuff to buff my Clerics and deal some good damage. Check it out here: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/cleric-deck-30-06-13-1/#

However, the deck still seems pretty underpowered, so I was wondering if you folks had any ideas on how to improve it.

What bothers me the most is this Soldier deck a friend of mine has, it's from the same time period as my deck, yet his soldiers seem to have much better synergies. It seems to me that modern decks are just generally more powerful than these old cards.

So, I'm wondering, is this deck doomed to fail, or is there a way to save it? :D

Well you could turn it into a white/green enchantment deck and use Kor Spiritdancer and some stuff like Bear Umbra or Eldrazi Conscription
