Alright so I need some help. Someone in my magic community is organizing a Standard Pauper tournament post rotation. As much as I love my deck idea, which would be heavy burn, I don't know what would win.
Any suggestions for general strategy?
(also this is my first time posting in the forum, sorry if this is the wrong place.)

Like basically every common burn spell in post rotation standard. I don't really need help making a deck, I just want some ideas for what to play. I was also considering Delver with Cancels and such.

I'm not familiar enough with Pauper to know what's being played or speculated to play. If I'm correct Standard Pauper is a new idea, more or less? Sounds like a pretty small card pool. There are some articles on StarCityGames.com about the Pauper metagame from a month or so ago.

Well, I think I can help you with the Cancel s, you might actually want to use Psychic Barrier , and Negate . Now, before you say that Cancel can do the job of both, consider the fact that Psychic Barrier can make your opponent lose life, and Negate 's just there to make up for the other spells. Other than that, I'm afraid I can't help you, as I don't know much about burn decks.

Psychic Barrier is rotating but Essence Scatter is ok

The only reason I'm showing interest is because the guy who hosts these has money to throw away, a month ago he did a Standard Battle of Wits tournament with a playset of foil Bonfires as a prize.

but by Standard Pauper, its basically Pauper with only standard legal cards. I'm not entirely sure what I wanna play, either burn or delver or like golgari aggro.

I won a pauper tourney with a blackd eck that wins with highborn ghoul and tormented soul with dark favor and lots of control.

Excuse me, if I'm being naive, but what is heavy burn exactly? 'Cause if I know what it is, I can help you better.
