Hello tappedout.net community! i'm new here so please bare with me but i've asked multiple people and nobody can give me a straight answer so far. If i were to play a Desecration Demon and an opponent on their combat phase sac'd a creature to tap him and then attacked me could i then play Savage Surge to untap my Desecration Demon and block? Does Savage Surge only untap after the combat or can it untap before combat in order to block? or both? I need to know if i should incorporate them into my deck or if i should skip them to replace them with two more Rancor . thank you so much!
Oh, and yes, you can still attack that turn.
As far as replacing them with 2 more Rancor I'd run the rancor anyway all the same.

Savage Surge is an instant without timing restrictions. You can cast it at any time you have priority and it will untap the targeted creature when it resolves. So it works like you want it to.
That being said, I wouldn't run one of each of these cards just for the interaction because your chances of drawing them are pretty slim.

i was going to run two Rancor and two Savage Surge . General consensus still seems to lean towards 4 rancor. Why? i plan on running 4 Lotleth Troll which already has trample.

Rancor just gives you great value in terms of offensive power. It's inexpensive, gives a good bonus, and comes back when the creature dies.

im currently running green, with a splash of black ( mainly just for deathtouch) but at great way to play this card Predator Ooze swing then lay a deadly allure guarantees a free pump, depending on the opponents next move, if they attack surge and block (indestructible), after the first turn they are already a 3/3... after the surge they become a temp 5/5 and if you kill the creature... perm 4/4 and growing... and flying can be tamed with fightbear (Ulvenwald Tracker ) or Daybreak Ranger Flip and use the surge to use their ability again...

Before you go onto the next phase, each player must pass priority.
Yes, You could play Savage Surge to untap your Desecration Demon .
I'm also 90% certain that your opponent won't be able to sack another creature to tap your demon(because it says beginning of combat phase), although, the could tap it with another effect. card:Gideon's Lawkeeper or something.
