Selesnya: A love/hate relationship

So I have a Selesnya deck, i use it's white life-gain, green creatures and creature buffs. I was playing my friend today who runs a speed Boros deck and i was destroyed. I want to know how to counter speed and control decks like ones i play every day
Voice of Resurgence , though expensive, is a really good card against basically everything.
Aside from that, any self-respecting Selesnya deck's motto should be "The best defense is a good offense." Play fat creatures early through ramp and tempo and your opponent will (hopefully) not be able to keep up. Turn-1 Elvish Mystic into a turn-2 Loxodon Smiter into any 4-drop on turn-3 will really set the tone of who's in control of the game.

Update: I beat the Boros deck by using Garruk, Primal Hunter 's -6 ability while i was in control of 8 lands
