Which should i go with, Shroud or Hexproof? I'm looking fr permanant abilities. Shroud is cheaper do cast, but hexproof allows me to affect my creatures.

They serve different purposes and aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. It depends on what your overall strategy is. Could you describe the situation or deck that's causing you to think about this some, so that we can get an idea of what might be important to you?

Correct. The goal of the Hexproof/Shroud is to keep some of the more important creatures alive, like Vorinclex, Animar, and Arcanis.

But I also use Indestructible to keep them alive as well. The question is which is more beneficial in terms of keeping those more important assets alive.

If you don't care about targeting them ever again, use the cheaper shroud stuff. If you need to target them with something, run the hexproof stuff. Evaluate per card, generally hexproof is more expensive, but not always.
Some good single target Hexproof/Shroud in Animar's colors: Lightning Greaves , Swiftfoot Boots , Alpha Authority . Clout of the Dominus

If you just need it to protect Animar, Soul of Elements , you're probably fine with either provided the cost is right. Personally I'd run some of the things raithe000 suggested like Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves (as they are both very versatile and cost effective). Asceticism would provide hexproof for all of your creatures and give you a regeneration response to things like Day of Judgment .
If you seriously intend to use a few of the tricks in your deck like Spearbreaker Behemoth routinely though you may want to stick with hexproof exclusively. If it were me I'd run it with just hexproof (and Lightning Greaves because they are just that awesome) and see how much you end up targeting him in practice.
