I am trying to make a Rakdos standard deck and was wondering if I should run Ultimate Price or Doom Blade . I don't want to run both though, just one or the other.

Being that mono-black is the most popular deck right now, Ultimate Price all the way.

... Hero's Downfall > both.

Dark Betrayal is better for the sideboard, probably as a 2-of. You don't need 4 Betrayals because you wouldn't be cutting Downfall against mono-Black.

Standard is an unfortunate jumble with removal lately. Both Ultimate Price and Doom Blade are going to be straight up dead cards in certain match-ups and situations. For instance, cards like Rakdos Cackler and Nightveil Specter are immune to both.

What kind of Rakdos deck is it? If it's aggressive than it probably care less about being able to hold up spells and just needs the removal to get things out of the way. If that's the case than you can simply run Dreadbore . Otherwise I'd look for some mix of Doom Blade and Dark Betrayal for your sideboard.

zandl - I already have a full playset of Hero's Downfall in the deck as my go to removal spell.

Slycne - I don't know how to explain my deck in terms of is it aggro or combo or tempo or what. But if you want to take a look at my deck and leave any feedbakc on it that would be most appreciated. Tymaret The Standard King

Great. A deck link in your original post would make me look less stupid next time.

I'm not sure if you need much more removal you actually need, but has Dreadbore ever crossed your mind? Hero's Downfall is obviously better as an Instant, but Dreadbore was (and remains to be) a very strong spell. You're killing any creature or Planeswalker for just 2 mana. Nothing else in Magic's history can do that, let alone in Standard.
