Simic/Golgari in Standard
Deck Help forum

Made a deck around the combo of Corpsejack Menace and Master Biomancer . I playtested against a boros aggro deck and got worked pretty hard. I'm planning on taking it to Gatecrash Gameday this weekend. Any suggestions to improve the tempo are much appreciated. Deck is at deck:simic-golgari-standard
the best way to use Simic with Golgari is combining evolve with undying. Zameck Guildmage can take away a counter from a creaturew with undying who has already died once, which allows it to go through undying again. Counters from the undying creatures can be passed around with the guildmage or with Bioshift . Corpsejack Menace with makes this crazy good as every time you move a counter it doubles. And Master Biomancer will make the undying creatures enter the battlefield extra big. Vorapede is probably the best. Strangleroot Geist is up there. Young Wolf is great. Lots of Golgari stuff can combo with this idea. Hope I can help.

in terms of comboing with evolve, undying creatures come back stronger and will trigger an evolve creature more often.

I have a similar deck here: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/bug-18-02-13-1/
Mine's more simic-ish (focuses on evolve triggers) though.Yay, BUG!

I'm not sure the guildmage is all that effective in this deck, as I would rarely want to shift just one counter, but would rather shift all of them. I just got back into the game with M13, so that's why the deck lacks stuff from the previous block. Strangleroot Geist is a sweet idea, I'll try and get my hands on some. I can see how undying is a slick mechanic early game, but once the Biomancer is out it doesn't really bring anything to the table as everything is coming in with at minimum two counters. I didn't really build this deck around the evolve mechanic, more just trying to use Corpsejack Menace and Master Biomancer to pop out a buffed Vampire Nighthawk or Thragtusk and beat face. I've also considered splashing red for Slumbering Dragon and Fervor , but I don't have the fixing at the moment, and it seems unneccesarily complicated. Thanks for the comments!

To shorten your deck archetype just say BUG (Black Blue Green).
