So I want to make mill a thing

I'm curious as to how I should do this. I was thinking maybe a control Mind Grind for a lot or a B/U/G route with like Grisly Salvage and Psychic Spiral to a victory. I feel it has potential but I need some input.

UW Millstone [2014 Edition]

Here's my attempt at making mill a thing. Just take out a couple of cards to make room for Jace, Memory Adept , and you're golden.

Mind Grind is definitely also a card, and can work very well in a UBx shell. If you make an Esper control list, and throw in a couple of Mind Grind and maybe a one of Consuming Aberration , that'd also work well for a mill strategy.

If you want to go mill, you have to go big, or you have to be prepared for the long game. Cards like Tome Scour really just don't cut it because they're just too slow. If you see what I did; I made a control deck and put in some grindey mill cards that stick around. One shot pops will not work for a mill strategy, unless it is Psychic Spiral or Mind Grind (ie, unless it is huge and can do all the work itself).

Good luck with the mill strategy, I really love this win condition, and I hope it works out for ya.

Mill is tough to play in the current meta, to be sure. The mill deck I play runs 4x Jace, Memory Adept , 1x Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver , and 1x Jace, Architect of Thought with a play set of Mind Grind , and some Wall of Frost to keep myself able to block in order to keep myself alive until I am able to grind them out. The other win condition I have is doubling up the ability of Duskmantle Guildmage with Jace, and hitting them for 20 that way. It can win turn 6 if all plays out well.

It is tough, but it can be done. Aggro matches do not go well, and a control match is a toss up. Beyond that, it can be interesting. Just play, have fun, and keep true to your roots!
