so here is a look at my son's deck. it's a standrad rakdos bild. not really aggro, but not really anything else. i think he did an alright job, but what do you all think? he needs some suggestions...mostly sideboard help i think also.
He has access to all of that except Ash Zealot . He can trade for those though. Thanks for linking it. I forgot to since I was in a rush. You really feel confident the bloodhall is a better option than the crucible, though? 5 seems steep for 2 life.

I've often found that by using the cards no one expects that you can garner wins by shock I've pulled a few upsets and it is always fun. Although after reading Hellion (Haven't actually seen it before) It does seem like a better option. Not a problem. I normally don't run those colours so I'm sorry if my advice isn't perfectly spot on, just test run it till he can find the right balance to it.

For black/red you can check out my deck Blood of the Night or if you're willing to splash white, my Blood of the Night v2 can also help.
If you're running Desecration Demon i'd run 4x Blood Artist and a few Tragic Slip s. You might also get some use out of Rakdos, Lord of Riots if you use Crypt Ghast to cheat out a Griselbrand .

Sideboarding Stromkirk Noble against human decks. Liliana of the Dark Realms is always nice to cheat things out as well. The Aristocrat is an amazing card as well

Thanks for all the suggestions. Some of them are really great and I'll pass them on to him. The Ristocrats are sweet, I use them myself, but they are pricey and he is 8, so no budget. He can trade for them though. I never even thought about blood artist and tragic slip with the demon. That's genius and I think he'll be into that option. Thanks all again!

I won a FNM with a cheap burn deck. It didn't have anything that cost over 3 mana. I would mainboard Stromkirk Noble . Curse of the Pierced Heart won 4 games for me. One guy actually used an Oblivion Ring on it. Vexing Devil and/or a few Bump in the Night are good too. If he doesn't have Ash Zealot he could use Rakdos Shred-Freak . Having a T2 or T3 haste creature in conjunction with removal is a good way to get in a lot of damage early. Mostly I'd run a bunch Burn spells, drop anything over 3 cmc, and not build anything that is too guild affiliated because themes are predictable and many of the cards require you to build around them rather than just build something effective. I've learned to ask myself "Do I want to build around a theme/combo, or do I want to win." Do you want to get that nasty Demon out there or do you want to win? You don't have to cast cool cards, just reduce your opponent's life total to 0 as fast as possible. Try 50% Offense (Creatures/direct damage) and 50% Defense (Removal) and then tweak that ratio as needed.

Other cards you could consider are Rakdos Charm (sideboard), Pillar of Flame (sideboard or maindeck), Brimstone Volley (Good with Desecration Demon , Vexing Devil etc.) and Hellhole Flailer (the deck has no 3-drop creatures). I think Stromkirk Noble is mainboard worthy - The fact that he can't be blocked by humans is just an added bonus.

with rakdos in there it seems like a bit of a waste not running cards like the previously mentioned griselbrand or carnival hellsteed which have larger amounts of colourless mana. curse of stalked prey and lightning mauler are also good.

I second Carnival Hellsteed . It's a great 5-drop for rakdos, and a foil or promo foil will only cost you .50c. I also agree with Brimstone Volley , Stromkirk Noble and Pillar of Flame .
Look out for the morbid keyword on cards, those work well with desecration demon, especially at instant speed. Skirsdag High Priest might even be notable with Desecration Demon.

I'll go ahead and link the deck here to help others: Rakdos Rush
I would naturally suggest getting ahold of more Dragonskull Summit and Blood Crypt if at all able. Stensia Bloodhall over Hellion Crucible could be more interesting. I would run a couple more Ash Zealot in the SB you can never have enough graveyard hate. Bump in the Night is a nice option as well.
