Splashing Blue in Death and Taxes?

So I've been developing a Modern deck on-and-off recently:

And came across the interesting prospect of a small Blue splash, mostly for access to Geist. Keep in mind that in Death and Taxes this has to be done without Fetches due to the search-hate. I've scribbled up this potential build:

Die like a Rockstar Playtest

My question to you: is it worth it? Geist provides a whole new counterpunch against control, Spell Pierce is an extremely useful tool, and Phantasmal Image is extremely versatile.

Thanks for the input!

I think that if you are going to run Geist, you should run it 4x, despite the legend rule. If it sticks, it wins. Though, I don't know if this is the best shell for him, as you have relatively few ways to take out blockers.

Sidenote: Finks seems really sweet in the current meta. Seems like it should make both lists.

The reason I chose to only run 2 isn't because of the legend rule as much as his relevance. Against control he sweeps, almost no question. Against aggro, however, he's not nearly as good as some of the other 3-drops I'd rather see.

I've been on the fence about Finks, but find that the life really isn't all that necessary and I would rather apply more early pressure than have his persist as a fallback. Do you see a particularly great spot for him? I wouldn't be opposed to squeezing him in, but I just really didn't see a great/necessary spot.

Also, thoughts on Dryad Militant vs Soldier of the Pantheon ?

Definitely militant over soldier, it just destroys snappy, some ad nauseam decks, and storm.

On geist, I feel like a deck running him needs to have the ability to win the game with him even against aggro (via removal or something) to justify mainboarding him. Maybe sideboard him for the UWR/UW/Fae MUs.

On finks, he's just a house against any fair deck, particularly non-PTE ones. The absence of DRS just increases his playability immensely. Also, with zoo being a deck, life gain is very relevant, especially on a body that can easily trade with their many X/3 creatures.

Well, my meta is pretty small. I basically see Jund, Twin, Ad Nauseam, Pod, Soul Sisters, Infect, White Weenie, Mono-G Stompy (1 of each) and nothing else.

Also, I rarely build sideboards. I know it's stupid, but (long-story-short) I'm too impatient to play with my new decks.

I am thinking Militant will be the better option with what I see now.

I do have a fair amount of removal, just not as traditional. Flickerwisp , Mangara of Corondor , and the two together can deal with on-board threats pretty well.

I'm unsure that Finks will really be that appropriate for my meta, which consists mostly of Combo or Midrange-y decks. If I were to add it, what spot would you recommend?

And, to pick your brain a bit more, thoughts on Swords in these builds? I own a few of each and think L&S or F&F could do particularly well if given the chance.

I have a friend who runs those two swords, and it is very effective.
