Hello tappedout! I love what the internet has done for the old school MTG players out there. I can't even remember if there was anything like this out there in '04.

First a bit of background on me, I played from 4th ed to the Invasion block almost non stop. I only got into tournament play just as the Odyssey block began to cycle in, and then quit cold turkey.

So here I am again back at the beginning of Innistrad, and boy have things changed. I already dislike the infect mechanic so very very much. But I digress.

My deck so you can follow along as I explain: G/W Humanity

I've been playing a G/W humans deck at FNM for the past few weeks, and I cannot seem to overcome the hurdles that I face when someone has either a) fliers b) infect or c) creature removal.

I've had the misfortune to get beaten on turn 3 by an infect deck simply because I'm not terribly familiar with the cards yet, so while I would think that letting a 1/1 infect creature through would be fine, it is not when a Livewire Lash is attached to it, and then two Mutagenic Growth s tossed onto it after you decide not to block.

The other issue the deck has is creature removal. Slagstorm appears to be the most popular way, followed closely by galvanic-hammer.

I feel like my first iteration of the deck made better use of the humans from ISD, with the likes of Fiend Hunter , card:Avacyn's Pilgrim, and doomed-traveller. I've since taken all of those out for other things, but I am not sure that was a good move at this point.

Another issue that I've seen is that if the game lags for more than 5-6 turns, my chances of winning drop significantly.

Any thoughts or suggestions for this not so noobish, but very rusty player would be appreciated.
