Standard Deck Suggestion under $150

I've got a drunken gaming day coming up and one of the guys has issued a challenge in Standard. All my power cards are on MTGO, so need to fabricate a deck in short order and hoping to stay under $150 incremental spend.
Looking for advice before heading down to the game store to buy singles. I do have some power cards already (basically a box of Theros and one of M14), but nothing that comes close to making a competitive deck. It's rather sad, really, how few great cards you get in a box.
Right now I'm hoping to leverage my handful of dimir power cards, but really I am open to anything. I've considered tribal (minotaurs, beasts) and aggro (mono red, gruul) as my best budget options.
I will also be victim to what's in the binders at the store.
I've posted a Dimir deck list and looking for suggestions.

You could do Gruul, but you'd have to burn money on shocks to make it effective.

Yeah, that's my current plan B. Doesn't tap into my existing card base as well, but may be the best pure budget deck. Thanks fluffybunnypants

Mono-red is definitely the way to go. You could spend $140 getting four Stormbreath Dragon , then use the remainder $10 to get all the commons and uncommons.

Yeah, this RDW approach is making a lot of sense. Luckily I already have one Stormbreath Dragon .
Just scouted another RDW deck list and I can likely afford two decks now if I don't blow the wad on dragons. :)

mono black is another option. Also fairly inexpensive.

I just noticed your comment on shock lands - yeah, that's $50 or so... uses up a lot of the budget.
Probably will go with guildgates or Temples if not in aggro, but will likely go mono color for aggro.
What do you think of Rubblebelt Raiders at $0.50? Too slow?

Turbo Fog Maze's End is surprisingly good and dirt cheap. Easy to play drunk too.

huh.... never even considered a turbo fog maze's end deck. That would drive them crazy.

I personally like the Spellheart Chimera decks, your biggest expense would be shocks, (at like $40 for 4 Steam Vents )everything else in the deck is around $2 or so, and it's won the local FNM like 2 weeks in a row, it's strong, I will give you the list if you want it.

would you rather have me send it to an email, or just post it on here?

Lands:
9x Mountain
@ $0.15 ea =
8x Island
@ $0.15 ea =
4x Steam Vents
@ $9 ea = $36
2x Izzet Guildgate
@ $0.49 ea
Creatures:
4x Guttersnipe
@ $2 ea
4x Young Pyromancer
@ $3 ea
3x Spellheart Chimera
@ $0.75 ea
Instant:
4x Steam Augury
@ $1.50 ea
4x Shock
@ $0.25 ea
4x Lightning Strike
@ $1 ea
4x Magma Jet
@ $3 ea
4x Izzet Charm
@ $1.50 ea
3x Dissolve
@ $1 ea
3x Syncopate
@ $1 ea
That's main board, a total of $96 if you have NONE of the cards, I went with SCG for the prices due to that being pretty much what your LGS will charge for the cards.
Here's a quick SB for you as well
1x Spellheart Chimera
- $0.75
2x Swan Song
- $2.50 ea
3x Essence Scatter
- $0.25 ea
3x Negate
- $0.15 ea
2x Cyclonic Rift
- $5 (the 2nd most expensive card in the deck)
2x Turn / Burn
- $0.50 ea
2x Mizzium Mortars
- $6 ea
SB Total: $30
So for the whole deck assuming you have none of the cards at all you are looking at $125

Boros Humans works fairly well and I've had some decent success with it. Also W/U heroic is another good deck that has seen success. Here is my decklists for both if your interested.
The Legion of Boros Boros Humans
Heros of Sparta W/U Heroic
The only cards that are expensive are the shocklands in each deck and the Sphinx's Revelation in the heroic deck.

Bite the Curb is a Rakdos aggro deck I've taken to FNM a couple times and held my own. Blood Crypt and Lifebane Zombie are the only expensive cards required, everything else is >$4 and even most of those have a cheaper card that can stand in.

RDW in my opinion. Foundry Street Denizen , Firefist Striker , Rakdos Cackler , etc. are all priced low.
