Standard merfolk deck

So ive been a fan of Merfolks sence i started playing magic around M12 -current and ive always wanted to make a nice competive Merfolk. Does anyone have any suggestions for a deck now that kiora is out and the new mechanics?

It looks like Simic is definitely the way to go so you can use Kiora's Follower and Prime Speaker Zegana , but stay heavy with Blue Devotion to max out Master of Waves . I'd probably steal a page out of the MUD deck for this one, and if you're doing Simic, might as well throw in Master Biomancer for the Master-Master combo. Also, since there is no benefit to playing Merfolks with any of the creatures here, Door of Destinies seems like a must. Here's a rough idea:
Creatures (28)
4x Merfolk Spy ; 4x Tidebinder Mage ; 4x Kiora's Follower ; 3x Scroll Thief ; 3x Thassa, God of the Sea ; 4x Master Biomancer ; 4x Master of Waves ; 2x Prime Speaker Zegana
Other Permanents (7)
3x Door of Destinies ; 2x Jace, Architect of Thought ; 2x Bident of Thassa
Lands (25)
3x Mutavault ; 2x Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx ; 4x Breeding Pool ; 4x Temple of Mystery ; 10x Island ; 3x Forest
The ironic part is that you could probably name "Wizard" with Door of Destinies too, but oh well.

For the decklist above, you could spend about the same amount and build Modern Merfolk. There just aren't enough good Merfolk cards in Standard right now to build tribal fish.

you guys are awesome! thank you so much. im actuly going to play it. maby in FNM just for fun. and GREAT idea with the door of destinies. never thought of that lol im happy

Merfolk is not possible in standard.
