Staples for Zedruu EDH

Deck Help forum

Hey guys, I've started prototyping a Zedruu EDH deck and need some help on what to add. Here are a few criteria that I want the deck to follow:

  • Follows a $150 budget at the absolute maximum, and no card can be over $5 or so (unless it's an absolute staple)
  • It's not designed to be competitive, just fun. I want to use Zedruu to give my opponent some nasty cards, lockdown the board with enchantments, and then drop some bombs to win the game.
  • No infinite combos. I don't get much satisfaction out of winning a game by going infinite. Synergies and combos are fine, just nothing infinite

I've started a list of potential cards as a deck list, and have titled it Sharing is Caring (usually). Feel free to comment here or on the deck list. I haven't had time to write up a good description, so feel free to ask questions about where I want to take this deck.

I think that's it... Thanks for the help!

Sorry Epoch, wasn't sure which one this would be more appropriate... Guess I chose incorrectly. Thanks for moving it!

Thanks infinitemana!

I dare you to play Mind Unbound and kill someone with it.

Auramancer or something along those lines would do well in getting needed enchantments back.

@ pookypuppy6 -- I've added it, let's see if I can :P And Auramancer would be a good addition, thanks! The deck now has 100 cards... still needs work though.

As a fellow player of Zedruu and lover of casual EDH, I can recommend a few fun cards. Akroan Horse and Pyromancer's Swath are great. However, the single most fun card I know of for Zedruu is Lich's Mirror . Because the mirror says the player shuffles all permanents you own into your library, if you give it to someone else and they die, then it will remain in play on their field because they don't own it. This effectively 'zombifies' that player because they depend on you being alive and the mirror staying on their field. Give them a few lands to get back started (which they don't own so won't get shuffled away when should the 'die' again) and you will be gaining 5-6 life off of them alone each turn along with having a forced ally.
