It has recently turned a year since i started playing MTG and i have decided that once again i will be going to a few star city open events that are around my area. Last year since i was still new I borrowed a junk reanimator deck from a friend and got 101 out of 500 and something (which in my opinion is fairly good) but this year i want to do better and i also want to do it playing one of my own decks. The thing is i can't decide if i want to play a variant of my esper deck or jund deck. The variant being more competitive than what they are. I also thought about playing B/G, BUG or UW control. The open is in about a month and i cant decide which to fine tune. Please help me decide. Here are the links to the esper and jund decklists. Esper Walks Jund Removal Thank you in advance.
Your best choices are MBD, MUD, W/U/x control, W/x Weenies, G/x ramp, and maybe some form of RDW.

Money always wins. Your Esper deck is probably the best bet. I have yet to see any BUG deck in competitive (much sadness there). U/W is everywhere, good luck with B/G (I'd love to see what you come up with).
Right now mono-black and mono-blue devotion decks own the competitive scene. If you don't run one of them, you'll probably want to build ways to counter them.

Epochalyptik Thank you. I wasn't quite sure where to put it.
thewyzman I don't usually have a lot of trouble against blue devotion with my esper deck but haven't been able to play test against black devotion properly yet. The reason i was thinking about BUG is because you still get access to Jace, Architect of Thought and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver with the blue and by adding green you get mainly in my opinion Abrupt Decay and Deathrite Shaman

With BNG just around the corner, I would hold off on any making any lasting decisions or investing time tuning a tournament list until at least the spoilers are finished.
