Is there any reliable way to stop a blinking thragtusk in a low curve mono black?

Torpor Orb only kills the Enter the Battlefield effect and if your fighting Birthing Pod , card:Grafdigger's Cage works wonders. Though Cage will probably Hurt you as well if your running mono-black, or anything with undying.

How is it blinking? Is it "blinking" with cards like Cloudshift ? Or is it been combined with Roaring Primadox and similar effects to keep bouncing in over and over?

The first thing that popped into my head was Sever the Bloodline , but that may be too high a flashback cost to make it worth having two removal chances in one card.

If you're playing mono black, you should already be running Despise. But if you're not, I would try to include at least 3 (probably 4) Despise in your maindeck. It's great for Thragtusk, Snapcaster, Restoration Angel, Huntmaster, Geist of Saint Traft, Blade Splicer, Strangleroot Geist, and all the other creatures that traditionally give black problems.

just kill it with Doom Blade Go for the Throat etc. at worst the use Cloudshift but id rather force that then attack and get the block+Cloudshift .

If you can't beat a Thragtusk, I would seriously reconsider your deck as Thragtusk is a major part of the tournament magic scene. Beyond that, an aggressive deck should be able to play through a Tusk, just keep applying pressure. If this fails, it might be time to try playing a second color.

Remember, never let yourself get pigeonholed into a specific color or deck idea, let the natural progression of your deck building process run it's course. Even if it moves your deck away from your original idea.
