Is there a viable subsitute to use in it's place?

I am working on finishing the deck, but do not own any tarmagoyf and does not look like I will in the near future either. Currently in it's place I am running 3 Scavenging Ooze and 1 Garruk Relentless  Flip . not the same power I know, but can it still be viable?

RUG sweep is the deck list.

He's irreplaceable until Wizards prints another 2-drop that grows with the state of graveyards. People have used Lorescale Coatl with goyf, because he grows stronger without being touched (much like Quirion Dryad as well), but none of them hit the board turn 6 or whatever with 5 power. That was before Delver though.

Yeah, 'Goyf is irreplaceable, which is why he's so freaking expensive. I think WotC is actively trying to reduce the expense of several cards for people wanting to play Modern, which is why they reprinted him in Modern Masters. Unfortunately it didn't do nearly enough to reduce his sticker price. I packed 2 of them in MM, but I wasn't willing to pay the extra $200+ for a playset to actually use them, so I traded them.

I was just having a conversation about this yesterday, and about how they need to reprint the fetch lands also if they want more people playing Modern. Right now that format is out of too many people's price ranges. The rich kids have already got Legacy, lol!

agreed about the price tags...but what can I run in its place for the time being? maybe the flying goat from Theros can be decent? Spellheart Chimera ?

if you HAD to pick one from the list below, which would it be for RUG Delver?

Scavenging Ooze Spellheart Chimera Quirion Dryad

what about Thrun, the Last Troll , albeit he is not a 2 drop, and is only a 4/4, but he cannot be countered and is hexproof, paired along with a flipped Delver of Secrets  Flip he will surely be a menace?

tarmagoat is still an option I am considering.
