Hey everyone,
My local shop is hosting an "Anything Goes" tournament; basically as long as it isn't an ante card or Shahrazad it good to go. I need some help coming up with something I can play that won't result in me getting infinite combo'd to death on turn 1 every game. All of my current decks are pretty casual and would get destroyed. I have no expectations of winning, but being able to actually play would be great. I'm on a pretty tight budget, so I can't go out buying Force of Will s or anything. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

When you aren't sure what you are going to face, and you want to do it reasonably cost effectively my choice would be RDW.

I agree with DeckBuilder345. When in doubt, throw some goblins and burn at someone's face. I've only participated in 2 "Anything Goes" events, and one of them was won by RDW. I think my own Goblin Burn deck would be a fun choice if I were to do it again (though Tapped Out says it costs almost $150, that is budget for a format like this).

The old U/R Kiln Fiend deck has some possibility: it's cheap, and even though it's not always reliable, an ideal hand results in a win turn three.

I highly suggest doing Mono Red Burn when you don't know what you're meta is gonna be. Read that article post it has a very detailed primer that should help you make your deck.

You should probably just run a degenerate combo, burn is slower than solid combo decks

Damn I was just about to say that. Anyway, as long as it's anything goes, basically any deck with only 3 unique cards will win cheaply, as long as they are the right ones.

If you're really on a budget maybe just get the Graveborn premium deck and alter it a bit to increase it's reanimation consistancy

if you are worried about possible 1 drops, play 4 copies of Mental Misstep , it can really mess with some people and there is a reason it got banned in legacy. also prepare for at least one caw blade matchup.
