Talrand combo questions

Not sure if this is the place to post this. Anyway I got two questions about Talrand, Sky Summoner .

First one, Talrand, Sky Summoner is on the field, I go to cast and instant, lets say, Vapor Snag and then I use Twincast or Reverberate . Would this give me two drakes, or three because of the second Vapor Snag ?

The second question is if I activate Dual Casting on an instant, lets just use Vapor Snag again, while Talrand, Sky Summoner is on the field would I get one or two drakes?

Id imagine that I wouldn't get those extra drakes that I am hoping for, because I am not actually casting an instant or sorcery, just copying it. Thanks for replies!

Any copy effects do not count as casting the spell, therefore you only get drakes for the first spell. Twincast, Reverberate, eyc will do nothing but net you another copy of the spell. However, cascade could be powerful with him because that specifically says you cast the card without paying its mana cost. Hope that helps!

Well the Twincast and the Reverberate don't do nothing, you would get the drake for casting the Vapor Snag and for casting your spell to copy it, but not for the copy. So yeah you were right, 2 drakes not 3. Unfortunately.

Just to clarify -- in the first scenario, Talrand's ability triggers when you cast Vapor Snag , then again when you cast Twincast . So you would get two drakes. When Twincast resolves, the copied spell goes directly on the stack without being "cast", so it doesn't trigger Talrand's ability.

In the second scenario you would get only one drake because the copy of the spell is not "cast". In your example, you cast Vapor Snag which triggers Talrand's ability, then you make a copy of Vapor Snag directly on the stack, which does not trigger Talrand's ability.
