The Rack vs. Shrieking Affliction

Which of these two, The Rack and Shrieking Affliction , should I run in my discard deck? They would pretty similarly, but I figure one probably has to be better. Thoughts?

I guess I could run two of each... right now I'm running 3/1 in favor of Affliction, but that could change. I guess the real question is, how often does my opponent have 2 cards, huh?

For my personally, I prefer a 3/3/2 combo in the way of Shrieking Affliction , The Rack , and Liliana's Caress .
Getting a caress out while you have either of your other two out is pretty harsh, because it will morph the way that your opponent plays. If you only have the first two, they will be more inclined to not play (m)any spells to avoid the damage. But if you drop a caress, they're caught between a rock and a hard place because to get around the caress, you need to play all of your spells.
So basically, I'd just say to keep an open mind, and try new things out to see what works best for you.

Hmm... I didn't really think of that. Seems like overkill to me. Wouldn't it be better to just have more discard spells to make sure all of those work all the time?

so 8rack runs 4x Thoughtseize , Inquisition of Kozilek , Wrench Mind , and Raven's Crime , and then The Rack and Shrieking Affliction . That's a pretty typical 8rack deck.

you could always run two of each, seeing as they are both different permanent types making them harder to remove all of them. also, wouldn't something like Liliana's Caress also be a good idea?
8rack decks damage cards are The Rack , Shrieking Affliction , Liliana's Caress , Megrim , Quest for the Nihil Stone and Painful Quandary for the most part. Try them out and see what works for you!
