Think Twice?

Deck Help forum

So I am needing some major help guys. I have until Friday afternoon to get my deck finished. I am still suffering from lack of cards in hand after turn 7-8 with my current control build. I am doing very well with this deck but I need it to be better.

To that end I need to add in a playset of Think Twice . What i need help with is figuring out what to cut out and which cards will be needed least.

The deck I am using is Ral and His Izzet Wizards. Help will be GREATLY appreciated so that I can kick some serious ass Friday night... :D

The most glaring problem I see is the Maze's End . It does absolutely nothing to help with the deck except maybe shuffling the top card while you have Melek, Izzet Paragon out, and then you're adding a full playset of an otherwise useless land for a one-of legend. If you insist so heavily on keeping Maze's End for its bit of fringe utility, lower it to two or one and add some combination of mountains, islands, and/or Desolate Lighthouse s.

You run too man counterspells. Cancel is unnecessary with Dissipate , so run two Think Twice in their place. Additionally, Rewind is too expensive unless you have Goblin Electromancer , which you don't run for some reason (I run a deck similar to this. Trust me, Electromancer is one of the most potent cards in this kind of deck.) Again, cut those for Think Twice

There's your playset of Think Twice.

the whole point of the deck though IS to counter everything that can be thrown at me... That is why i use the Cancel and the Rewind in conjunction with Dissipate . honestly I have never run into a situation that I did not have the ability to cast Rewind when i needed it.

Goblin Electromancer is nice. do not get me wrong. but the problem with him that i have is simple. nearly everyone that i have played against at my LGS runs a damnable gruul or naya based aggro deck. That being said, most of these decks contain some combo of Searing Spear , Pillar of Flame and or Mugging . initially i used electromancer. problem was that he was just too weak any point after about turn 5-6.

i love the idea of the lighthouse. but i am trying to keep from filling any more slots with cards that i will have to replace in a few months... :(
