To Snapcaster Mage or not to Snapcaster Mage?

Deck Help forum

So I recently bought 3 of the infamous Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage for my deck deck:possible-spirits-beats-blueprint (which I'm renaming, because it's happening). I'm thinking about switching them out between it and my other U/W deck, deck:sunblast-stonehorn-and-a-sojourner. This deck too would have to be renamed, because what I think I would take out would be Sunblast AngelMTG Card: Sunblast Angel. So the point that I'm taking so long to get to is that I have 3 Snappies, what do I take out to make room? My gut feeling is the 2 angels and one land. I use to run 3 Sunblasts, but tended to get mana screwed, so I took one out for a plains, but now I get mana flooded! What needs to happen, T.O.?

To start, the Venser/Stonehorn deck has 25 lands. That's not absurd, it is reaching the limit of how many I'd put into a control deck. Also, try adding PonderMTG Card: Ponders to the deck. Having a dig spell is nice because it allows you to shuffle away unneeded cards and rearrange your topdeck to deal with the current board state. After you do that, then reevaluate the deck to see if it needs the Snapcasters.

Thanks, although I used to run PonderMTG Card: Ponder, then switched it out for Think TwiceMTG Card: Think Twice. :P It seems to run smoother with that, and I when I've gotten mana-flooded Think TwiceMTG Card: Think Twice drawn, played, and flashed back lets me hopefully get through those land clumps. It's just that those clumps tend to happen more often than I want. I guess the point of this post, though, is to see what to take out for Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage. Sorry if I made you get off on a tangent with the non sequitur about land. :/

Keep the sunblast and then SB the Day of JudgmentMTG Card: Day of Judgments since sunblast in your deck is essentially a one-sided board wipe. Then find something from your SB that you can take out. I find that I can almost always find a couple cards in my SB that I rarely if ever side in and so can remove them.

And if the question is to add snapcasters or not to add snapcasters. My personal answer is... uh duh? It's snapcaster.

Also a land would be fine as well. You're at 25 lands right now with 24 you'll still be fine. I've done reasonably well with a 23 land control deck once, although now I've increased that significantly.
