What would be a better search for torlarian-academy: Expedition MapMTG Card: Expedition Map or Tolaria WestMTG Card: Tolaria West? As you answer this question, please explain why you believe it is better. Tolaria WestMTG Card: Tolaria West could be better because it could search for 0 casting cost artifacts but I need UU to use the transmute ability. Expedition MapMTG Card: Expedition Map could be better because it cost 3 colorless and can be paid for over two turns but it only searches for lands. Let me know what you think. Thank you. user:Geoff_of_Biscuits.

It really depends on the deck.

Tolaria WestMTG Card: Tolaria West can tutor for any land as well as any 0-drop spell (Pact of NegationMTG Card: Pact of Negation and Tormod's CryptMTG Card: Tormod's Crypt, anyone?). You're paying 3 total, it's just that you need blue.

Expedition MapMTG Card: Expedition Map is alright with artifact recursion or if you want low-cost land tutoring over a turn or two, since you can cast it turn one and crack it turn two.

I personally prefer Tolaria as a control player because it just offers more options.

Crop RotationMTG Card: Crop Rotation isn't that bad and gets the job done. However most of the time you need to be cautious of walking it into a counterspell, which is sometimes the biggest drawback of playing the card. But also consider, Crop RotationMTG Card: Crop Rotation can sometimes have great utility because it allows you to put out a land at instant speed. Think along the lines of instant speed Bojuka BogMTG Card: Bojuka Bog, which generates a lot of power, especially in vintage, where you opponent may try to play something like Yawgmoth's WillMTG Card: Yawgmoth's Will. Also in legacy, 43 lands sometimes plays the deck and usually has Life from the LoamMTG Card: Life from the Loam aswell, which often counteracts the inherent card disadvantage from playing the spell.
