The Problem

Addicted to stabs to the face.

The deck is running Pain Seer , Herald of Torment , and Boon of Erebos along with a suite of heroes, bestows and a few other heroic enablers. The three mentioned all serve an important role, but as I've had experiences with all three of them hitting in the same turn (with Seer hitting Akroan Conscriptor ) I've come to realize that maybe the self inflicted issues should be lessened. It's really quite difficult for me to come to a good conclusion on what direction to go, as I'd rather keep the heroic creatures, boon to protect, Seer as my (very needed) card draw engine and herald as the added reach when I'm the aggro. This deck really is fun, but another part of the fun is building a deck that can win more often than not, ha! So hoping to keep the flavor while lessening the issues.

Any suggestions?

with all that self inflicted damage, you need a way to gain it all back. Whip of Erebos might be what you're looking for

2 Whip of Erebos is usually good enough. Gift of Orzhova is alright too.

Why not Gray Merchant of Asphodel ? You have lots of double black mana costs...

Whip of Erebos seems like a popular option. You all don't think that the limited damage actually dealt by my dudes makes that a bit weak? Once they are buffed all is well, but I'll be quite low at that point. But whip is something I've already sideboard, so switching it to mainboard shouldn't be too difficult, just need to figure out what to sub out.

Gary is an option, but since I run that in basically every other black deck I have I'm hoping to step away from the merchant and his delicious goodies.

Also want to avoid more 5 drops cause Pain Seer .
