Trying to make a new mono green deck for after the new cycle coming this fall 2013

I'm tying to build a mono green deck that'll be standard legal for after the new cycle coming this fall, 2013. I want it to emulate my current deck that is not going to be standard legal after the new cycle, deck:romeo-smash. I'm having much more of a difficult time considering that I haven't seen a list of cards that are coming out for the new set this fall. Please help and thanks for your time.

There are currently no cards that will be standard after the Fall 2013 Standard. Please check back in a year.

I think s/he means to make his/her deck Standard legal for M13 and Innistrad/Return blocks, which could be played this fall. Am I correct?

I'm sure this is the case. I was being a nitpicky smart-ass.

Ah, gotcha. Well, the answer is still basically the same, bxromeo8586; there are, to the best of my awareness, no spoilers for any Return to Ravnica cards yet, so you'd be best served to either build it around the M13 cards and the Innistrad block, or to wait until the spoilers come out in September. That said, I for one would be happy to take a peek at your old deck to see if I can offer any advice.

While I'm pretty new to Magic, the FNM's that I go to in my area seem to be dominated by mono-green decks built off Innistrad block and 2013. You can ramp up real quick and pull out creatures at a near aggro deck pace. Those are winning every week here.

The ones i see win week in and week out are built around both Garruk's (relentless and Primal Hunter), Acidic Slimes to control the opponents board, Predator Ooze, and then lots of trample and death touch. Uvenwald Tracker is a must so you can use deathtouch to knock out creatures you don't want, and lots of Prey Upon.

But the cards doing the most work right now in Mono-Green are Scars-block or M12. Dungrove Elder , Thrun, the Last Troll , Sword of War and Peace , Sword of Feast and Famine , card:Green Sun's Zenith, Wurmcoil Engine , Primeval Titan , etc.

there have been 3 cards spoiled so far. The golgari leader in the upcoming duel decks, and two other cards that introduce two of rtr mechanics, one that gives you more tokens of the same kind you already have (currently the spoiled card only gives 1 token of 1 kind of token you already have, but here's hoping...) and the other card is a pretty sweet beast of a mechanic that allows you to turn your dead creatures with this mechanic into +1/+1 counters onto your dudes by paying some mana and exiling the dead creature.

Rootborn Defenses hasn't been officially confirmed by anyone. IMHO, the card image that surfaced a month ago looks really fake.

Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind has been officially spoiled as a reprint, too.

I didn't play back in Ravnica, but I'd have to assume that there will be quite a few multi-colored cards which may make mono-color strategies weaker.

That said, there are a ton of cards in mono-green making the jump. I think Wild Defiance might be the best bet for mono-green moving forward.
